A Place Of Great Opportunity

Powerless. A word that has hidden opportunity and the ability to change lives for the better. When a person is in a powerless state they no longer need to figure things out. They can give their problems and circumstances to God and rest. But too many people like being in control so they fight a winless battle. It's only until they recognize their powerlessness they can surrender their all to God.

We hear a lot about surrendering our will to God and not too much about powerlessness. We know surrender has a bad reputation but powerless reputation is worse. The world says being powerless one is weak, less than or a failure. No one likes being known as powerless or defeated because we live in a world where winning is worshipped so everyone is striving to become a winner.

Life has a natural flow. Sometimes it flows our way and to our liking. Then there are times it flows opposite of our expectations and cause us to become uncomfortable within. It's at this moment we recognize only God has the control over the natural flow of life. It's the perfect opportunity for us to recognize our powerlessness.

God puts that gnawing uncomfortable feeling inside us for a reason; to make us aware of our powerlessness.

He wants us to do some deep soul searching and ask ourselves some questions. Questions like: Why do I feel I need being in control of everything and everyone? What is it about this person I don't like about myself? What part did I play in this situation? Do I believe in my heart that God is in control of this situation?

When we admit our powerlessness and take a look at our motives and not our feeling, we become connected to God and our truth within. Our emotions are still there but we lose the effort trying to control them. Another part of accepting the natural flow of life is allowing ourselves to feel.

We must remember we are powerless over people, places and things and that gives us the chance to grow spiritually. We stop obsessing over our circumstance and we start to hear God speak to us with His gentle voice. We begin to hear Him tell us it's okay being powerless because where we are weak He is strong. God never wants us to forget that.

Sometimes there are treasures within and golden opportunities that measure beyond our understanding. If we are in a serene state of mind we can let go and allow life to flow the way God attended it to flow. Recognizing our powerless gives us the opportunity for God's power to flow through us to others, and that's the greatest treasure of all. Copyright number UNAO-ZCOV-MUUS-7OV3

Very nice artilce Vernon, but powerlessness i think most people associate with hopelessness, eventhough they are two seperate entities, but acknowledging your powerlessness before God Almighty is a good thing it puts everything into perspective.

Exactly! There is Power in Powerlessness. Because that's when we can turn it over to God, who's in control anyway. Thanks for commenting and the following.
