What are the ten commandments?

My answer is - they are a great way to bless a nation and people, and whole lot more.

They are the 10 laws or commandments - given to Moses when he talked with God, right?

Some would say there were others, but why - these 10 laws - so important?

Are they still important today? I could talk on any one of them.

Where are they at, and what are they? Here's the list and location -

In the bible - Exodus 20 (Old Testament)

Ex. 20 - Here they are - ten of them ( there are more, but people should keep these ten!)

1- No other gods ( there still might be a problem with this one)

( love me, and keep my commandments - still tough to do )

2 - Graven image, ( Like cars, houses, banks corporations, money, government, etc.)

3 - taking God's name in vain - when we get mad - that's a problem too

4 - Keeping Sabbath or Sunday holy - not working on that day - that's a problem also

5 - Honor your father and mother: ( Look at what we do in nursing homes )

6 - Don't kill - others - well we've got problems there too!

7 - Committing adultery ( look at all the movies, ads, etc. that's a big one)

8 - Stealing - all over the place - in every store.

9 - To lie - why look and listen to the the leaders and politics!

10 to covet - a wife or house or any other thing - it's all over the place -

I don't think we are doing too good at any of them, as a whole, in our society or country.

In short, we got a lot to do, as a people and nation.

Where do we start? In our selves, and in our homes! In our families, live the laws - yourselves, by example word and deed, can we do that or start there?

If we are honest - with our selves and our God - we know we have some work to do!

Christ said, we needed to love God and Love others - saying it - and doing it - well that's another thing.

Like any hard thing it will take some time and work - with our selves and with God - you know Rome was not built over night, and we are NOT going to be made perfect, by sticking these on the wall and forgetting about them, either - how about a little discussion here and some review on how we are doing?

As a nation and people - collectively - not so well, going maybe in the wrong direction? Yes -

In some individual and smaller groups - it looks a little better - in our homes and families - there might be some hope, like all things - its depends where you look and where you point the finger - just be careful on the judgment.

You might be surprised -

Surely we could all use some improvement in these areas.

May we all better learn - the importance of keeping these commandments! As a nation, and as a people, there are many blessing that could flow from obedience to these great laws!

It will take a greater faith, and diligence, to do so but it will be worth it.
