Trouble comes to all us and there are no exceptions to the rules. So what are we going to do? We can choose to forge ahead and go it alone or we can choose to turn to God, who promises to never leave us. Life is all about choices and I’m not sure why we find this one to be so difficult. When we think about it or usually when we have no other place to turn, only then, we see how simple the decision should have been.
With the sinful world we live in, troubles are bound to follow. Each of us will experience our own share of troubles at some point in our life. Whether it is be a bad report from the doctor, a spouse walking out or the rejection of a child, the pain is intense. We find ourselves in what seems to be hopeless situations, wondering how to get through it or even if we will get through them. We begin to lose heart and feel we have no strength to go on.
We can go it alone, toughen up and take the blows! Depending only on upon ourselves in the face of trouble is a dangerous solution. We find ourselves falling into negative patterns that will only harm us in the end. We tend to blame others, but more importantly we want to blame God. Left alone we seem to spiral out of control in despair and want to give up in retreat.
What about this concept; turning to God who promises He will never forsake us? Without God what hope do we have anyway? He promises to give power to the weak and to the ones who feel they cannot go on, He will give them strength. When we put our trust in Him, He is faithful to help us through whatever we might have to face. It is never God’s intention that we go through these trials and we will not understand all the whys, but if we remain faithful in Him, He promises to turn the bad and the wrong done to us into a blessing.
Are you feeling exhausted and drained, with the feeling of defeat drawing in? If so, you cannot allow your circumstances to overwhelm you. We have a big God, who knows all! In this world of sin and trouble we are bound to have our share of burdens, but what determines how we get through our trials is who we decide to depend upon. He promises to not only to help us, but to also give us blessings, if only we will carry on in spite of our problems. God is the only answer! If we will depend on Him and have the faith that He will bring us through, He will place His tender mercies on us and give us the strength to endure whatever trials we may have.
