In the book of Ecclesiastes, the old prudent wise man Solomon shared and declared some tremendous advice, even for blended families. In the third chapter of this great book, verses number 1-8; Solomon strongly advised us that there is a time and a season for every activity under the sun.

However I contend that we sometime get wrapped up in the flesh and think that we can do it ourselves as opposed to God working it out in His designated hour. Believe it or not God has a time and a season for our hopes, our dreams, our wants and even our needs. If we fail to comprehend this fact we will find ourselves disappointed at everything life has to share with us, be it good times or bad times.

There has been over three decades which divorces has been an impact on couple’s first marriages, but we still tend to view blended families strange and moreover out of the norm. Most couples who decides to remarried especially with children are blindsided by the many challenges that a blended family or second marriage present. But not putting God first will get anyone in trouble who thinks that self always have the answer. God allows and God arranges!

Be caution when trying to make a decision involving your family. There are some things that you need to do and certainly some things that you should not do but as human who tend to make mistake after mistake, we need to consult God when it comes to family matters. God has predestined the things that occur in your life. With that said, you cannot and will not force something to come about if it is not time.

There is one out of three children who live in a blended family and for some reason instead of learning from the Jones we duplicate their mistakes. My thought is that is the reason that society still look at a blended family as it is something out of the norm. But know that there is a time and a season for every activity under the sun. Parents please do not attempt to make the children love you because that comes with time. Both the children and the parents should always have mutual respect for one another. This seems to be as far as the family can take it because love will come over time and time only!
