The second annual State Of the European Union Conference was held on May 311st, 2012 at Egmont Palace in Brussels. This conference covered the corporate view on how to revitalize and bring back the once strong economy of Europe.
At a time when every aspect of financial business has been tested in this Union, this conference was well needed. Many think that the crisis they are going through will rock the Old Continent to the core and destroy it. Corporate management believes otherwise.
They feel the business world needed to hear the message that this union is going to turn things around by looking to the future, and getting out of the past. This needs to be a united Europe all striving for the same results. The voice of the future must be heard, and this conference gave them them the opportunity.
Business leaders from around the world attended and had round table meetings, debates, and discussions on the future of Europe.
Many people feel Europe is headed for destruction, and only innovative thinking and trust in the business world to invest in Europe will put the union back in the right direction. 77 percent of the business leaders expect Europe to look like the United States of Europe in the future, encompassing both the economic and the political realms. 49 percent are agreeing that it will take at least a generation to achieve this goal. research and development is paramount to investors, and Europe is strong in this area, so they will continue to do business which will strengthen the economy.
Many say London is still the best place for entrepreneurs, and they will continue to set up shop there, bringing their investment money with them. This is a win win situation for this area. Many others are worried China is going to be the biggest problem for Europe, but people is the business world are saying just the opposite, that China should be looked at as an opportunity that will benefit both countries.
I guess time will tell on weather Europe will pull out of this slump and regain stability in the financial world. As far as the Business leaders are concerned, they believe in this union and will continue to invest their money and resources in it. As long as the money keeps flowing, there is a chance of this once solid country can regain a firm foothold in the business world and pull up its britches! What do you think?

Nice article shawn, Europe is also trying to expand their powers i the caribbean .
Great article Shawn I think the world will watch with interest what develops over the rest of the year. I was interested in you point about entrepreneurs heading to London as I plan to head there myself in the new year and wholeheartedly agree that it is a wonderful city in which to flourish
Nice article Shawn, I wish both Europe the best in bringing their economy back up.
Sure feels good to read an optimistic viewpoint. Unlike the USA, Europe represents diverse cultures. Some countries are economically stronger than others. Is it fair to expect the stronger ones to hold up the weaker countries? How are divergent cultures going to mesh? America is definitely a melting pot, but we are essentially one culture. It'll be interesting to watch, and of course, I want the best outcome for Europe. It's time to be prosperous again.
