People having panic disorder symptoms, find disruptions in their everyday life. Having a good understanding of biological, neurological and psychological factors can be the foundation to eliminating the symptoms.
It is hard to change behavior, especially if things like regular drinking coffee in the morning are a ritual. The idea is to first identify the so-called triggers that cause your panic attacks. I often used meditation (or quiet time) to reflect on how things got to a panic state. Was I taking too much on at once? Were the stakes and expectations too high?
Changing a person’s behavior does not happen overnight. There are gradual steps you can take to manage distress out of your life. Maybe it is your job / career? It might not really be suited for your lifestyle. You can't just quit, because the money will eventually run out. Identifying the what, when, where, and how is the first step in learning how to know what causes panic disorders.
I encourage everyone to reflect on him or herself. Traces back your steps. Are you consuming too much caffeine? Are you in an abusive relationship that needs to end? Are you living a life that is too worldly? Some of these questions are tough to swallow for many, because you will never see the problems in your life, while you are wrapped up in them.
There are some people where it was determined that panic disorders and mental health issues are hereditary. Then you must accept your fate, and discover ways to live life that will minimize your symptoms. This is where complete lifestyle change must take place. If you live in a big city, you may need to move to the country. I lived in hustle and bustle of Indianapolis for 38 years, and it wasn't until I moved to the hills of southern Indiana that my life started to change. That is the type of major change I am talking about. I am not trying to over simplify this.
Another biological issue people have is with their Thyroid Gland. My Thyroid Gland was not producing enough hormones, and that will also add to person’s anxiety-depression cycle. Having your physician check your Thyroid Gland would be a good step in reducing panic attacks.
Stimulants like Nicotine can contribute to panic disorders, directly and indirectly. Directly speaking, the drug can excite a part of your brain that can contribute to panic attacks. Indirectly, Cigarettes are very expensive and spending money on them can add to financial distress.
In my pathway through this, I spent several thousands of dollars with psychotherapy exploring what causes these flare ups of anxiety over the years. There is hope for curing major panic attacks without spending thousands of dollars, and you can do it on your own!
There are many self help systems for panic disorders on the market now. Learn to empower your life and treat this condition on your own.
