Well Ashley Jung
You are a very brave man (boy, guy what ever). Fancy having the nerve to suggest that people should consider factoring in some time separated from their phones!!!! OMG, don’t you realise that you are challenging the very survival of humanity. The very primal instinct of each of us now, is to reach for The MOBILE the moment we wake and make sure that we have not missed a call, a txt. a rumor, a lie, a piece of gossip, ground breaking news that by the end of the day will be total history – except of course if it actually is real and devastating to populations. And also, it is the commitment to the 1000’s of followers (friends who actually are unknown) that the important people have, that satisfy ‘s the constant need of ‘peer care’ I call it.
Of course, it is now totally ‘ordinary’ to be out with friends and then watch them tune into the phone to some ‘Random’ and watch your friend try and include me in their conversation with the Random, even if I know who they are, they are not actually ‘OUT’ with me and my friend, but of course to be ‘cool’ I go along with the interruption (just another sheeple). Worse still, it is work calling so that’s OK???
No, Ashley’s article is about Disconnecting from Technology is a must for Stress Management and when taking time out it is necessary to have set time away from the technology and tune into yourself. No self doubting, no need to find confirmation from others just take time to find out what you want and what makes you tick. Believe in yourself and be that.
I guess I just embellished the Mobile Separation a little as it is such a control device and unfortunately most owners don’t control their networking devices, they are controlled by them…yawn yawn! who cares it is the way of the world and it is so entertaining at times. It is an easy way out of the boredom, at least for the millisecond.
My first mobile was the second generation, the slim line version of the Motorola Brick. I was so cool….I think I’ve still got it and I think I will start using it again cos’ it would be even cooler now LOL LOL. Also it would be a style of exercise, flag the Gym…I carry my weights with me.
yeah... and it is probably big in dimensional size as well ( a good defense weapon), carrying it would be such a great work out.. giggles
