Elections in France, in Greece, in a part of Germany.
Sunday, 6 May 2012, 19:00-………..
Forecast of the results.
Monday morning, 7 May 2012.
Chaos in Europe. All channels discussing the results, why it happened, what will happen now, how will it affect our lives.
A game of politics that we all participate without really being able to change the situation. Why? Because politicians all over the world have decided the rules of the game but also the result and how to get there.
Manipulation. What a strong word! And how easy it can be when they use the right strategy and media. It takes time maybe years but in the end, mission is accomplished. The result is always and everywhere the same. Politicians are always winning something and people always hope that better days will come.
But how does that really affect OUR lives?
During the last years the changes in the world are tremendous. People lose their jobs, have financial problems, are forced to leave their country sometimes to move to another where a better future might be waiting. They might also be really old for a change, but under the circumstances, what to do? And what if they are not prepared for such a change? New country, new language, new job, new home, new life. But is it a better life? How much time does it take to adjust to it? To be accepted? How much stress is involved?
Is there a way to smoothen things a little and find the strength and courage to move on?
There are more and more young or older people committing suicide every day. They are lead to drug addiction or alcoholism not being able to see a light in the end of the tunnel. And the tunnel in this situation is a big big crisis. There are many specialists lately trying to cover the subject. They write books, articles in magazines or Internet, they make videos, shows, web sites. And that is because the health and the piece of the mind is the most important thing in our lives.
So, here are a few ways to face a crisis whenever there is one
- Learn to recognise a crisis
- Ask for advice
- Don ‘t think of past events and do not blame others
- Don ‘t worry and stress yourself about future events you can not control
- Think of every problem separately
- Make a list of your problems. That way they will seem less struggling to you
- Follow a daily routine to create a feeling of safety
- Distract your mind from your worries with a hobby or exercise
- Try to get a good night sleep
This is a piece of advice to follow for every crisis whether it is serious or not. The definition of a crisis can be really different for people. There is nothing wrong with that because each one of us according to our age, status and lifestyle face different kind of problems. So, just remember:
- Take your time
- Follow your own pace
- Don’ t be disappointed
This too shall pass...
Thanks for the excellent article. Wish u a great success in your life. Being Human!!
With modern practices all but designed to spin and deceive, its hard to truly jump in on anything anymore. Stuff isnt being done 'For The People' anymore, it ties directly back to whatever special interest is funding it. Nice article:)
That is right Wayne, and the result is the tremendous changes in our lives which we need to face bravely and survive! Thank you for reading and commenting.
Thank you Penny. When you have a personal experience it is always easier to give the advise. Hope it helps!
I value technology and learning new things over politics. lol. Great article.
Good for you! Me too. But the facts are so strong that I had to refer to something to get to my point which was advice for overcoming any crisis. Just keep the tips, thank you for commenting.
Crisis is an apt word to describe a condition the entire world is experiencing. For the first time in my life, I have had thoughts of moving to another country, and I love my country. Problem is that we are all having the same problems. I don't think anyone likes their politicians at the moment. Stress level over the economy, price of gas, shifts in industries, threats from everywhere are causing great unrest. I think we just have to have faith that things will right themselves in time. Live one day at a time. And solve problems one at a time. And keep a sense of humor. Be grateful for family and friends, and carry on. I commend you Maria, for picking yourself up and taking on the challenge of a new place. Wish you a great outcome. Thanks for the excellent article.
Thank you Joan for your precious and kind words. I agree with everything you said I just have to add that we live only once and we have to make the most of it. So, since the situation is not so easy to change we have to make personal decisions and changes in order to move on. Nobody leaves their country because they want to. They do it because they have to. Because they have a family and kids and they have to do what is best for them. We have only one shot to make things right. The political game though continues for endless generations.
Thank you Lemuel for reading and commenting. Hope that was useful also as guide to help you relax, keep a distance from your worries. We all need that sometimes.
I found your article sobering Maria. I don't often think about these things... just getting on with my own life one day at at time. I'm not saying this is the best approach but rather leaves me personally in a calmer space.
I can perfectly understand that Heather, that is what I used to do and it was really cool. I was much calmer that way. But you see today I am in the group of the people who have moved to another country where I have started a new life from the scratch. And I had to leave many things behind because I had to think what will happen when my husband and I start a family. I really wish that you will never need to think about all of this stuff. It is much better where you are. Thanks for your precious comment.:-) Keep the crisis tips in mind only. Sometimes we need to follow a few steps to relax.
Good points made, with good advice to be followed. Why worry about tomorrow, when you can't fix today's problems. Some live with these problems every day and learning to make the best of the situation you're in is the best thing to do. I said the best thing to do, not the easiest thing to do. It is a world-wide problem at the moment, financial difficulties, corrupt officials being voted into governments, oil prices crippling most economies, I'm not sure where it all ends, but something drastic has to happen for the world to come right, I wish I knew the answer to the future to be able to warn my grand children. I see articles about global economies and governing bodies and wonder how that would help us all, no free economies to aid other countries to get back on their feet. It is all becoming so difficult to follow and so difficult for the people nearing retirement being forced out of work to try to live on a pittance. So dealing with a crisis and trying to overcome them type articles need to be written and read by the younger generation like yourself. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Rob, as you said the younger generation is in a complete chaos. We could talk about that for hours! And I can see it personally since my friends and family need to deal with the problem. As for the people nearing retirement...these are now my parents, my friends parents. And they have worked really hard for all their life so that we find everything ready and have a better future. And now not only our future is destroyed about also the life they built for all those years. They should just take a step back and relax now, but they don' t know what is going to happen tomorrow! Corrupt officials...how much time have you got? I would be scared to write anything about the subject. I really do not know what will come out! So, better to try and find ways to deal with the crisis and move on. Because they can not have our mental health and always control our lives.
The trouble with retirement today is no one is sure of the future, was enough put away to see you to your demise, or will you live beyond your savings reach. This is what the youth of today needs to consider, either the live for today and worry about the future when you reach it, or the live for tomorrow and hope that you reach it.
