Today, many people are becoming more and more stressed and anxious about things they experience in life. Many of us are stressed about the bad economy we have and hard times that people are facing today. Many veterans are experiencing a large amount of stress related to fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. When soldiers return home and attempt to find a job, this can also be very stressful.
A certain level of stress can actually be good for us. It will help some to become motivated and keep us safe. On the other hand, prolonged stress and anxiety can have a negative or opposite effect. It can impact one's health, performance, and decision making. Learning a simple way to quickly balance your mind and body on a regular basis can have positive effects.
There is a very simple but effective method. It will help you relieve stress, feel emotionally balanced, be more positive, and will improve your mental clarity. It will be very useful to do this before stress and anxiety related issues begin. You will want to implement this for at least 15 minutes or more if you are able to. You will need to do this everyday to experience the best results. This simple technique is going to teach you how to breath effectively to relieve stress and anxiety.
First thing you want to do before you start, find a comfortable place where you can be alone and not be distracted. Usually a place where you can sit down in a comfortable chair. You will then be ready to learn effective breathing techniques.
1) Breath in slowly to the count of 10. Hold that breath for 10 counts, then slowly exhale to the count of 10. Repeat this 10 times.
2) Hold your finger over your right nostril and breathe in slowly through your left nostril only. Then close the left nostril and exhale slowly through your right nostril. Begin again with the left nostril still closed and breathe in through your right nostril. Then close your right nostril and exhale slowly through your left nostril. Repeat this 6 times.
3) Breathe in slowly. Hold your breath for a moment, then exhale in short bursts until all air is gone. Repeat this 6 times. Please do not strain while doing this breathing exercise.
By using this simple and effective method to relieve your stress and anxiety, you will see a significant improvement in your stress level and you will experience a more positive outlook on your life as well.
