Understanding Anxiety

Understanding anxiety can be a helpful tool in defeating the uncontrollable feeling that anxiety can provide. Anxiety can be defined as psychic tension or the distress of the mind. Anxiety is commonly caused by fear, worry, doubt, and stress. On average approximately 18% of the United States population is suffering from some type of anxiety disorder. This percentage may seem small in comparison; however, we must consider that the average age of the first battle with anxiety develops around the age of 11.

Anxiety attacks and panic attacks arise from the feeling of being threatened or alarmed. It is normal to feel anxious, worry, and be afraid in certain situations. These factors allow us to become alert and aware of our surroundings. Anxiety kicks in as a response to danger that we feel may occur. This natural response can assist us in finding solutions to overcome the problem or situation. As one of our body’s natural defenses, anxiety can be helpful as well as harmful. Constant feelings of anxiety are not normal and should be evaluated as soon as possible.

Questions of concern:

• Do you experience overwhelming fear?

• Do you avoid public situations because of your fears of anxiousness?

• Do you worry endlessly?

• Are you sometimes overwhelmed with sudden or increasing panic?

If you answered yes to more than one of these questions; you may be experiencing some type of anxiety disorder. Anxiety affects people in many different ways. One person may experience an anxiety attack in a crowd of people; another person may experience an anxiety attack when driving a car or flying. Each person experiences anxiety and panic attacks differently for different reasons.

Some of the symptoms:

• Impatience

• Insomnia

• Trouble focusing

• Feelings of constant danger or misfortune

• Muscle tension

• Dizziness

These are only a few of the emotional and physical symptoms that a person may experience when dealing with anxiety. The major aspects of anxiety deal with the consistent fear and worry of something to come. People make attempts to avoid certain situations in order to stay safe or feel at ease. Anxiety attacks and panic attacks will leave you with a feeling of instant panic, loss of control, chest pains, shortness of breath, and trembling. These instant feelings are triggered by a variety of situations.

Solutions are available to end these feelings and help you regain control of your life. You can start by visiting your doctor, conducting more research, and consulting with family and friends (if you are comfortable with telling them). I have found that most doctors will recommend treatment that requires a daily life-time medication that many become addicted to. These medications can be harsh and have side effects that may increase your feelings of anxiety.

I am a firm believer in natural solutions and I encourage you to visit my site for an honest review of natural solutions that will end your suffering. Anxiety attacks and panic attacks can be very powerful and overwhelming. The feelings of uncontrollable fear can provide a life of solitude and regret. I encourage you to make a real change today. A change that will improve your lifeso you can live it to the fullest.
