Recently, I read a discussion about affiliate marketers with their backs against the wall that now is the time to take action. Perhaps they have little money, hate their job, or want to do something with their lives but in every case, they decide that now is the time. Which lead to the question of: Do people work best under pressure? Many people turn to affiliate marketing as a way to make money when little to nothing else is available. But most people don't make any money off it. People working under pressure applies to nearly everything, but so many affiliate marketers really turn it on when they are under a tremendous amount of pressure.
One of the unfortunately negatives about industry like affiliate marketing is that only a minute percent of the people make money from it. Something like 5% make 90% of the sales. But really, we all could make money from affiliate marketing. It is not a saturated field, but after a little while, many people give up.
Those people then give up their internet business. Then something happens. They get the proverbial "kick in the rear". They realize that it is go time and that they must put a concert effort into affiliate marketing. They become very directed at what they want to accomplish.
Unfortunately for many, it is not they have exhausted their other options until they take action. Perhaps this is why so many people procrastinate: they need that pressure cooker in order to really get moving. Remember in school of how only a few people ever started long term assignments early? Other than being lazy, the people who waited and waited may have required the pressure to work best. I am not a psychologist, but I imagine that many people do work best under pressure. They have ice in their veins. They can hit two free throws at the end of the game to tie it.
Once the affiliate marketers feel the pressure, they become focused. In this economy, many people are broke and some are beyond broke. They may see the possibility of living without a home as a reality. If this does not get someone to work, there are few things that will. As long as it is not too late, they still have time for a furious comeback; and a comeback that may lead them to the front of the pack.
Do people work best under pressure? Some may, or some may need to pull out all of the stops. They may become very motivated and are under tremendous amounts of pressure to succeed. We see this with affiliate marketing often. People promise high goals, only to be brought down when the new marketer realizes they have to put in real work. They quit because they think that it is impossible to make money, and then when it is to go back and a smiling attitude or face the consequences, they succeed.
