Your very first lesson with Learn to Surf Gold Coast

So you would want to learn to surf gold coast like a Pro.  Surfing the gold coast provides a range of exceptional beach breaks for the newbie surfer.  Tropical tepid water and soft sand bottoms produce an ideally suited climate for your first gold coast surf lesson. Learn to Surf Gold Coast works from a lot of breaks around the Surfers Paradise area.  Your first surf lesson should be carried out in shallow white-water waves (waves that have already broken) on big soft foam newbie boards.  All you’re expected to do iswalk out in shallow water} up to your waist carrying your surfboard and catch small white-water waves with the help of your instructor. So a simplestandard lesson will run like this; we commit 5-10 mins on the beach showing you a basic method to get up.  Next we run you through a safety speech and demonstrate how to maintain your surfboard so that you can make your way out through the break.  The instructor will then help you getting on your board and set you up for a wave.  We drag you into a little white-water wave and give you the signal to stand up.  And your standing. Voila!

With a little know-how and a bit of encouragement from your instructor you may be standing on your first wave...

Selecting the right spot to surf as a novice

The beach breaks at Surfers paradise can be fairly tricky for the learner surfer.  A lot of strong currents exist as the beaches there are open sea breaks (i.e. plenty of swell).  For newcomers it is not a good idea to try to paddle out the back except if you have a "death wish".  It is much better to commence in waist deepsurf so that you are not in danger of finding yourself swept aside by rips or strong currents.  This will additionally provide you with the possibility to get accustomed with the board and let you to get a sense for catching a wave with out getting "dumped" (when a wave knocks you under water).  You know I have witnessed a lot novice surfers try to deal with big waves with completely the wrong equipment and get critically hurt as a consequence.  All I can advise here is to locate a good surf school and get a surf lesson .  Usually a surf school will be working in a protected place to minimise the risk of injury to students.
