Now a days, many more women are getting tattooed. While more women are choosing to get tattoos, the flower tattoo design has grown in popularity. There are many flower tattoos and meanings that are associated with the many different species and colors of flowers. There are some flowers that can have many varied meanings while others like the rose have a very specific meaning.

In general, flower tattoo designs are connected with mother nature. They bring up thoughts and memories of vitality and life. When ever you see a flower, you see the continuance of life, simply put, flowers link with you in the thought that you both grow. Flowers grow out of the earth and grow every day. Then they will bloom and later in life they will dry up and wilt away.

Flower tattoos bring back the complete process called life. But just remember that this is not the only this associated with flower tattoos and meanings. Different flowers and colors will bring different meanings with them. White flowers can symbolize purity, while red flowers can mean that someone has a burning passion. There are lots of flowers and colors to choose from so just decide on the meaning you want to express and then find the flower that goes with that meaning.

Roses seem to be the most popular when it comes to flower tattoos and meanings because roses are a symbol of love. In the sixteenth century a rose was tattooed on prisoners that were sentenced to death. If some how they escaped the rose tattoo would help the recognize them. But in these days the rose is a symbol of one's passion and love.

In some western areas of the world the rose tattoo is a sign of purity and love. But in the eastern areas the lotus is a sign of purity and love. Lotus flower tattoo designs have a little more meaning though. They also show peace, goodness, fortune, and beauty. Roses might be the favored choice in the United States but other countries favor other kinds of flowers just like the lotus.

Other flower tattoos and meanings include the Acacia flower which is a sign of friendship and love. The Irish like tattoo designs of a flower that is known as the Bells of Ireland. This tattoo is a sign of good luck and is thought to bring luck to anyone that is tattooed with it. People that think that they are a great lover favor the tulip on the arm because tulip represent a passionate lover. The violet tattoo tends to be the choice of people that may be a little timid and shy and like to take things slowly. The iris is a symbol of virtue and wisdom and magnolias show a person's love for nature.

Flower tattoos and meanings are very popular these days. With all the many different kinds of flower tattoos and meanings you will be able to personalize a flower to your own personality.
