The Best Tea is Sun Tea And What I Mean is Green Tea Brewed Right In the Sun

Have you ever had sun tea? Have you ever made sun tea? Well I am going to tell you how I make my sun tea and why I think it is the best tea ever. First reason is green tea is good for you and second reason is it so easy to make and will keep you hydrated if you do not drink a lot of water.

The first thing you want to do is make sure you have everything to make this tea. Here is what you'll need.

  1. 1 Box of green tea bags
  2. 1 to 2 cups of honey
  3. 1 large glass jar (gallon size) with lid
  4. 3/4 gallons of water
  5. 1 Sunny day
  6. 2 whole lemons sliced in halves

To do this you will have to make sure the sun is out and warm outside for your tea to brew correctly. I used to drink this all the time when I would go visit my grandma who passed several years ago. I miss her dearly and she is one out of five people in my family I was close to. So this article is in memory of her.

I never understood why my grandmother was putting a jar outside with water in it and a dozen tea bags. I laughed but the end result was no joke.

So anyway back to brewing green tea in the beautiful sun. You will need to fill your jar with 3/4 gallon of water and 12 green tea bags. You take all twelve tea bags and tie all the strings together at the end so you can leave the end of string that has paper on it outside of lid.

You will need to twist the lid on and put in a nice sunny spot outside to steep nice and slow. Depending on how strong you like it, you pretty much can tell by the way your water is looking. The darker the better because by the time you add your honey and rest of water it will make it just right.

I always left mine outside from the time I got up to the time it was to eat dinner which was around 5 so around 8 hours is perfect. After you bring the jar in you are going to take the lid off, pull the tea bags out and squeeze the access off into the jar.

Add as much honey as you like to your liking. I don't use sugar because it ruins it and makes it unhealthy. This way is better for you. I usually put 1 to 2 cups of honey depending on my mood. Stir well then fill the jar the rest of the way up with water and stir again.

Serve over a glass of ice and slice of lemon to top it off. So to me the best tea is sun tea brewed right from the sun. Doesn't get any more simple than that.
