I always think of my readers, and usually, I make time to thank them for taking their time to read what I write. We, (my readers and me) often comment on what they have understood of my writing or make little useful remarks and give advice.
You all are my friends, because unlike the people who toke that tittle and see me daily, is not often when they can actually see what is inside of me, in fact sometimes they most think all I think about is food, chickens and pets. They do love me though I know that.
I have noticed that sometimes I click with my readers current thoughts and actions. I remember somebody told me about making sure to only write when the mind and body are in complete agreement to do so.
And that is so true, when we force ourselves to do anything usually what comes out is of no value, and writing is not a fit and forced task, my remark back to my loyal reader was something like "force writing will be like sucking words with a plunger" we all know that only waste will be left on that plunger.
In any event that advice happen to change object number one on the list of tasks that make my writing process, from set aside time to write and stick to schedule, to make sure I write when the words are coming out smoothly and I want to write.
The I have set number two on the list as research for key words relevant to my book idea, not that my book will be key word based, but those words will inspire me with other ideas related to the main book idea.
Number three is to give a review to key words and take relevant ideas and research some more to give those ideas my prospective of them.
Four is to elaborate on those ideas based on the research done and my prospective. Five is to reconsider the work done so far and edit it. Six is research some more until I refine the basic idea and make it fit with my prospective on it. Seven is the number of perfecting the work done until now.
Eight is the number that describes my the book writing sessions marked by a schedule calendar that will focus on a particular aspect every day. Nine is when the time to edit the first draft comes. Ten is deciding whether that draft reached my expectations or if it feels empty.
To me when a piece feels empty usually means that I missed something or misinterpreted an idea. Then I have to go back and take a look at every thing done so far and do more editing. The book is not too long and hopefully will start as an online edition before I think of put in it in paper, but I am planing on doing so.
Initially it might get published by e-book-publishing where I have published other work. This book will be my first of this size and I plan for it to really be an expressive form or the truth experiences as I felt them.
Ah! Just read.. and commented... on another article. Ebook with doing research using keywords to see what's going on in your areas of interest is a good idea. I just recorded 12 segments yesterday and built an ebook that people can either listen to chapter by chapter by clicking on Audio-MP3 or read. Grabbed out some lines for table of contents and pictures too. I'm heading now to edit my street articles author bio to be where people can get a copy. It's the first of a series of free ones I'm putting together. As a concept for eLearning. Would love your feedback!
I will look you up to connect with your recent work on ebook. Thanks. I will be there!
I agree with Heather and still love the analogy of the plunger... write when your ready and when finished don't proof read unless your nice and settled, I just find that way I see more mistakes and changes that need to be made....
Ohh yes I inteed to wit on proof read until I feel I got something. Thanks so much!
You've put good thought into the process Jesse. I agree, the best writing is when it is not forced. Sometimes the words just flow and all is 'in tune' with our truth. This is when the best writing pours forth!
