How to Excel Your Abilities And Skills?

While there is no existing limit for excellence, neither in tennis nor in any other activity whether it is sport-related or just casual stuff, there are established standards for almost everything. Whoever is compliant with them and matches the requirements – is considered excellent at that thing. In tennis there are also different standards for serve, executions of forehands and backhands, drop shots and net points. Of course, there are not any universal players that can do all of the above things better than anyone else. Someone has a big serve and someone else is guru at shooting down the line or playing at the net. However you can excel your game by simply being optimal.

Be unique. Develop your own serving style or create your own both impressive and effective favorite shot. Remember Frenchman Fabrice “The Magician” Santoro or Dutch Raemon Sluiter? Those guys had two-handed forehands and backhands and were considered one of the most inconvenient tennis players to play against. Create your own feature and apply it against your opponents.

Improve serve. Serve is one of the key components of each player’s games. If you have a weak serve, you will not be able to hold your service games, which is a direct way to frequent loses. Thus, you serve needs to be both powerful and accurate. Of course, if you are as tall as American John Isner or Croatian Ivo Karlovic, then you should not have any issues with your serve. But if you are not tall enough to serve as strong as they do, you can still have an effective serve. Let’s take Belgian Oliver Rochus as an example. That guy is only 5’6” tall for what he is considered almost the shortest tennis player on tour. But his serve is still powerful and his height does not prevent him to succeed. You can find the way too: whether it is additional spin or landing the ball close to the side line to kick opponent off the court.

Do not stop. Sometimes you may assume that you are indestructible performing your favorite shot, mostly because you have nothing to compare with. And your lack of awareness results in you understanding that was not enough but it’s too late – you are in the middle of the match. Even if you serve or spin the ball like a boss, do not stop improving your shot even more. Remember, there is no limit for excellence. You may not even know what you will be capable of if you spend a couple of more training lessons entirely to improve that shot.

While each tennis player is unique and there is not universal applicable how-to guide to excel yourself in tennis, these three hints should help you at least realize that there is a need to improve yourself. These are basic which you can apply in your daily on-court classes, however you are free to add any other practices you may consider appropriate to improve your perfect game even more.
