If you are looking for cool, quirky or unique Halloween costume ideas for 2012, consider borrowing some awesome ideas from the hit cartoon show, Adventure Time.
In case you are not familiar with this almost cult classic show, you can catch up on some episodes on the Cartoon Network. The show, developed by Pendleton Ward, has a good mix of just about everything you can imagine in the show. It is a blending of fantasy, science fiction, comedy, offbeat humor and of course, adventure.
The stars of Adventure Time are Jake the Dog and Finn the Human and this year, you will be the hit of the party if you model your costumes after one or both of them.
Our heroes fight off the bad guys left over after an apocalyptic nuclear event. The cartoon is set in what is left of the make-believe continent known as the Land of Ooo in the aftermath.
Carefully stepping over remains and assorted other remnants to be found after the meltdown, Finn and Jake bravely fight their way through all kinds of adventures and perform all-around good deeds. Protecting princesses from evil kings or taking a break to jam with their favorite vampire, you cannot help but get hooked on this slightly off-the-deep show. Popularity has been gaining and it is well on its way to becoming a one-of-a-kind all-time classic.
As for the Halloween costumes, Finn the Human has a very specific look. He always wears his awesome hat, which is something of a cross between a skull and Laplander-style, with what looks like some sort of small animal ears on the top. He wears a light blue shirt, darker blue shorts and always has his trusty green backpack in tow.
Jake the Dog is yellow and his big, almost googly eyes. He can change shape and size, based on what he needs to do during his heroic adventures, all the while keeping his great sense of humor. You can get a Jake hat to customize your look this year.
Both Finn and Jake are popular characters, but the other cast members can be added for a group costume. Some other characters from the show include Marceline, the vampire queen; Princess Bubblegum and the Ice King to round out your cast. You might even want to go out dressed as Beemo, the genderless video game console, a close friend who lives with Finn and Jake.
For some truly different Halloween costume ideas for 2012 and to put some adventure back into the holiday, learn how it's done by Finn and Jake. Adventure Time Halloween costumes can certainly make this Halloween original and most of all; memorable, just like the show.
Thanks! My son is definitely going to be Finn this year!
Thanks, Shawn! Isn't Halloween great?? In our neighborhood, everybody decks out their houses, dresses up and "tailgates" out in the front yard! There is a ton of spooky music playing and it is so much fun! Love the cemetery idea!!
Hey lucyking - I agree! I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings and that is a GREAT costume idea!
