A Great Hobby
Remote Control Helicopters are one of the best gifts to give to guys, young and old. Whether it be as a christmas present or a birthday gift, pretty much any guy will love what they see when they tear that wrapping paper up. If you're a guy reading this, perhaps you have written this on your mental wish list already! Nevertheless, buying one could potentially turn into a great hobby for many years to come. Of course, every hobby has its pros and cons.
I suppose if you've had an RC plane/heli before the one thing preventing you from flying every single day is the weather. There is probably nothing more frustrating to an RC flying hobbyist than the rain or snow getting in the way of your fun. If you are not a RC flying hobbyist, believe me, it's a letdown.
The Solution
Fortunately, there is a way around this. Whenever you want to fly and there is a monstrous blizzard howling outside ready to snatch that heli away from your RC controller's range, all you need is a couple of RC helicopters for flying indoors. Don't get me wrong, it's not exactly like flying around in the great outdoors, but it's still plenty of fun!
More about flying indoors with RC Helicopters
Indoor helicopters are a bit smaller than the one you'd fly outside. I doubt it would be very enjoyable to fly a three foot aircraft in your family living room. The first time you'd crash your wife/mom would chase you out of the house with a red-hot frying pan! So to save her the gray hair I recommend you get a small 4 inch RC helicopter that's perfect for flying indoors!
The RC helicopters for flying indoors I'm talking about are extremely light of weight, therefore it is very hard to accidently break anything around your home (though it is very possible if you try). Although it is not advisable to crash your helicopter on purpose, it is very improbable that you ruin the helicopter if you do have an accident from time to time. They are usually made of fairly durable materials nowadays, unlike indoor helicopters of the past which were made of syrofoam.
Syma S107G
You may at this point be wondering if I personally have a RC helicopter for flying indoors. The answer is yes, I do have an indoor helicopter, the Syma S107G. I am happy to say that I was quite tickled at how easy it was to fly it and how stable it was. The Syma S107G has coaxial propellers, which basically means it has two main propellers spinning in opposite directions. This creates a gyroscopic effect for extreme stability. Therefore, the Syma S107/S107G is a great helicopter to start flying indoors with.
