Affiliate Marketing: Mobile Application For Fun And Profit
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

I first reviewed a mobile application by Textingly and touted all the benefits that it could have for an affiliate marketer. It was a texting application that followed the principles of Aweber, but after some further thought and use of the product, I have discovered many more uses for it.

For those unfamiliar, Aweber allows you to have a pop-up appear over, or as part of your home page. It simply asks for a name and e-mail address. If a visitor fills it out, it is like gold as you have the start of a very targeted mailing list. The second part of the application allows you to have follow-up e-mails go back to the specific user. As an affiliate marketer, this allows you to repeatedly have your company name and specific sales pitches go to the visitor and grow your traffic.

Textingly is the same idea, buts instead of e-mail address, it sends your message directly to the potential consumer's mobile device. I believe this to be an extraordinary marketing device. You are deliverying consumer friendly messages direct to your consumers. I believe that before this product gets copied and overworked, you are very likely to have your messages read. (Unlike the huge mass of company direct e-mails I get that either get dumped to my spam or are simply erased by me.)

On further thought, however I came up with some non-affiliate marketing ways to use the Textingly program. For example, you're a teacher and you want to insure that your students are aware of their assignments or tasks. Having their numbers preloaded and simply sending out one message, and you can reach all of your students at once. I have some experience lately with a sick child who tried unsuccessfully to get her homework assignments from Facebook and Twitter accounts. How nice would it have been to have the teacher mass notify the class of their assignments each day?

Another use would be for groups, society's, and clubs? How likely will you be to go to a meeting when you're contacted directly using textingly several times in advance on your mobile phone? Rather likely, I would guess.

What if you are theater? How much more of a crowd do you think you would draw with direct notices of times and dates of productions going to a targeted audience? I think that you could improve traffic exponentially.

So to recap, I believe that textingly is a great application for online retailers and affiliate marketers, but it's uses for the real world seem boundless too.

Thanks for reading.
