I have another article marketing tip for you. Social backlinks are a great way to get some immediate exposure for your articles but did you know, in Google's eyes, they are a huge factor in determining your rank in the search engine?
When Google sees a lot of people sharing an article, it recognizes if people are sharing this naturally then other people are going to be compelled by it as well. Keep in mind, Google's main goal is to place quality engaging content in front of it's viewers.
Comments are also a big factor. If it's compelling and stirs up a conversation, Google will want to rank it a bit higher. Some of the best ranking writers I know often write on subjects that are always bound to stir up a controversy. They do this because they know the value of comments to helping them rank.
A combination of social and comments can be an extremely potent combination indeed.
I have picked up some techniques over the years that have built a strong social following which has led to getting a significant amount of comments on my work and you can too. It's really just a matter of getting involved in your social networks.
Find other people on Facebook, Google +, Twitter, and Pinterest who share the same interest as you and start getting involved with what they're doing. Go check out their websites and get involved in there discussions. Offer people something in your comments that adds to or enhances the conversation.
Ask questions when you are unclear and give the author an opportunity to engage with you. By doing this, you will start to become known and respected among the other followers of that author.
Friendships will form, people will begin to add you to their social networks, and they will share your work with people they know. You can't sit on the social sidelines and expect to benefit from it. You have to really get involved.
Social is about people. For that matter, the internet is about people. Have you ever heard the expression, "Don't talk at people, talk to people?" The same thing applies to all aspects of internet marketing.
What you're really trying to do is connect with people on a personal level. Once you make that connection and earn their trust, then and only then can you hope to grow your business and make sales.
Let's say you're in the market for new window. Who would you buy from, the loud pushy guy who wants you to believe his product is better because he's wearing an expensive suite and driving an expensive car or the guy that calmly demos his product showing you proof of it's quality and wearing a simple pair of slacks and a polo shirt driving a mini van?

I'm glad I could help, let me know if it helps the publicist out as well
Thanks Sonya, social is a lot of fun I tend to get carried away with the time i spend at it lol. I have to really stop myself or I would spend half my day reading peoples post and blogs. Are you a WSS member? If not let me know I will explain it
I was thinking you were but i couldn't remember for sure. I don't use a stop watch but i do have to keep an eye ion it. It's funny because i used to be really intimidated by social media. I had no idea how to use it or what to do with it but now I can't get enough of it lol
