If you’re looking for an article directories list for 2012, here I’m going to list you off the 50 top article directories you’ll find today. Before I get to that list, there’s one article directory I’ve always preferred using myself & that’s Street Articles. You may or may not have noticed this already by my profile off to the left. Here we’ll be talking about why I think Street Articles is the best place to use, its ranking potential, how fast they accept articles, & of course the list of 9 other article directories that are out there.
Seth’s Review over Street Articles
I’ve been using Street Articles for 1 full year now, & I have to say they’ve made a lot of success in that short time frame. They’ve updated there article directory countless times, & Kyle/Carson (the 2 owners of it) have been talking about updating this article directory heavily just last week. Whether you’re a beginner or as good as me (not trying to brag), SA can help you out a lot. IT DID ME.
But for you people who know what to look for in an article directory, there are a few big things to note with SA. These things are how SA requires its users to write there articles via strict publishing guidelines, how its fast its accepted manually by people (instead of initially by computer or waiting over 1 week for getting accepted which is also common), how fast there articles are accepted in Google & other major search engines usually being just 1 hour - BIG thing to note here, The ping services you can connect too, & how your articles aren’t stuffed with ads all over the place.
* If you want real legitimate traffic to visit your website instead of click on a bunch of ads, rank very high in Google, & get in touch with a huge follower base: Street Articles is a place you can do that. So with that said, that brings us to…
Free Articles Directory List
This free articles directory list is composed of the top 10 based on Alexa Ranking. If you don’t know what Alexia Ranking is, it’s based off how much traffic go to that certain website. It should only be noted that these top 10 article directories based off Alexia ranking are only leading by how much traffic go to & from those sites. A smaller article directory (such as Street Articles) can be much more ideal in the sense of RANKING POWER due to the guidelines they have for being SEO friendly with Google. This could even be more ideal to larger article directories even if there structuring or benefits tied into it is more ideal as well.
The Article Directories you’re looking for are as follows:
- Ehow - Alexa Ranking of 129
- Squidoo – Alexa Ranking of 218
- Hubpages – Alexa Ranking of 299
The 7 Runner Ups...
- EzineArticles
- Examiner
- SeekingAlpha
- Articlesbase
- Technorati
- Buzzle
- GoArticles
Then as a side note: SA has 16,264 Alexia Ranking putting it in 43rd place.
Finally, I want you to know that Alexia Ranking & Google PageRank don't play into your own articles you publish via article directories. You have to really look at HOW articles are structured via article directories, how many ads are placed within the articles (which usually hurts SEO if you ask me), the inbound/outbound links available to users, if the article is flagged as too salesy, & many other factors. This is something YOU to have to figure out on your own & through your own analysis.
Final Thoughts
If you have any thoughts or questions about any of these article directories, all comments are welcome.
I am quoting below lines of this article... "* If you want real legitimate traffic to visit your website instead of click on a bunch of ads, rank very high in Google, & get in touch with a huge follower base: Street Articles is a place you can do that. So with that said, that brings us to…" Isn't a violation of StreetArticles' author guidelines? SA says that it doesn't want promotional articles. Your article is good and informative. I enjoyed it. However, I am wondering how it was approved. Thanks.
Great Article, i agree with you especially on Squidoo and Ezine Articles.
Every article directory is good to use since they all contain different people. You just have to watch out for how they run things & stuff. Carson was telling me about how people could game the Alexia Ranking earlier which was kind of hilarious. Thanks for the compliment.
With you all that way. :) I see you're ranked #1 & have been for a while now, so that means quite a bit coming from you - lol. I hope you took a screen shot of it so you can save it for a post on down the road. In fact...I'll do it for you just in case.
I've only used SA so I'm not familiar with the others. I'm happy with SA so I think I'll stay with them
Yeah, Street Articles is great. That's my plan as well. Any "expert marketer" will go for rankings & not just adsense clicks.
Hey, that's awesome you've written for Sylviane. :) She's definitely a great writer. idk if you have a guest blogging thing setup for your blog but I'd be happy to guest blog on your site as well at least once & link it to my SA account. I'd only write for them to target more than 2 pages for a keyword (which I don't often do). It definitely is nice to be in a specialized community. There's only about 4,300 people in Street Articles, & I'd have to say about 200 of them are socially active - lol. I know this place well & most of the people in it.
Hey Cynthia! thanks for the comment. I've been doing some studying up on article directories lately.
Haha, np. If it's based mainly for the ideal of back-linking though, you're going down the wrong road. Good luck.
