Every Internet Marketer faces the same challenges as the brick and mortar business. You can open any business, buy all the needed equipment, hook up the telephone system, buy computers, chairs, desks, etc. Same stuff is needed by the home based business owner, usually on a smaller scale for a ONE person business.
Remembering my brick and mortar business, before Internet Marketing, we had 45 full-time employees along with thousands of temporaries coming and going. Average tenure for temporary workers was 8 hours to 200 plus in most cases. Many of our people worked temporary before accepting a full-time position with one of our clients.
Obviously, TRAFFIC was the challenge and a huge expense. Constant advertising in newspapers, sending out promotional pieces to companies, phone calls all day long, sales people knocking on doors, joining networking groups, business associations, Chamber of Commerce and more. A never ending challenge in a competitive marketplace is never easy.
No business can succeed without traffic building from day one and forever. It was reported to us one day that a passenger was on a plane sitting beside Mr. Wrigley of chewing gum fame. As you know, his chewing gum is famous everywhere so the passenger asked the question..... why don't you quit advertising?
Regardless of how well known or famous the product, there's a new generation of buyers making choices about which brand to buy everyday of the week. No advertising, no communication to the marketplace will kill off the traffic flow in a matter of days, maybe a few weeks at best for top of mind products.
Internet Marketers need traffic, new subscribers and hopefully a few buyers, too. Why don't some of the well known guru types quit sending us an email message, sometimes two or three, everyday? You know the answer, it's all about marketing, introducing new products in their niche to their subscribers on an autoresponder. There's a constant challenge to entice new subscribers to join their email lists.
Some Internet Marketers are extremely sharp traffic builders and have huge email lists of buyers and subscribers for each niche. Some lists of subscribers can take a long time to build for various reasons. Much depends on the sales ability of the entrepreneur, the copywriters hired and the promotional success.
Obviously, buyers of your product or service is the goal for all entrepreneurs. None of us need more "tire kickers" or "looking around" folks, it's the BUYER we seek to serve with our finest effort.
