Why the List Of Subscribers is the Most Important Asset An Online Business Has

Most people involved in Internet Marketing are obsessed about traffic.

The truth is that getting traffic is one of the key issues for an online business to exist. Traffic finally means getting customers, and making sales.

But what a lot of people don’t realize is that behind clicks there are real people with their problems, desires, thoughts, and expectations.

Instead of trying to understand them, to relate to them, and find ways to serve them always better, a big part of marketers are focused on finding tips and tricks to increase the number of visitors and clicks and transform them in subscribers.

Their final goal is to get by all means a list with as many subscribers as possible just because they heard that this is how money is made online.

The famous saying ‘money is in the list’ is without any doubt true.

However, a valuable list is not necessary a big one. And also, just having a list doesn’t mean that you already have the money in your pocket.

A list becomes an asset for an online business only when it has a good conversion rate. Conversion rate means the proportion of prospects in a list which becomes customers.

Normally, it is said that a good conversion rate is around 5%, but there are lists that convert in proportion of 10-12%.

To have a big list with a conversion closed to zero has no sense.

A valuable list is formed by subscribers acquired based on their clear interest shown in the content we provide and in the promise we make them when it comes to the solution we offer to their problems or desires.

So, building a list means attracting subscribers with a clear purpose.

It is not necessary to know from the beginning what we are going to sell them in terms or products and services. But what it is essential in building a list is to clearly know what need or desire we intend to cater, and in which way we are going to help people in our list.

Then, actively communicating with our subscribers we will find out what products or services they are ready to buy form us.

Creating the products to be sold to our list or selecting the affiliate products to recommend to our subscribers should necessarily be the result of knowing very well their expectations.

We will make money from our list only by providing our subscribers with relevant offers.

So, finally the combination between subscribers selected based on a clear purpose and targeted offers to their specific needs are what make the list to become a valuable asset for an online business.
