When you decide to travel for a trip. You finalise which place to go. Are you visiting to see relatives or going  for a vacation, short or long. Having decided the place and purpose, start  and get confirmation from whom you are visiting.

Start packing clothes and other essentials. If childrens are also coming with you then take their clothes and other spcial needs, some emergancy medicines and some books and/or play things to keep them busy during the travel. 

Travel By Car  is the most common way. This mode of travel is best and conveniant. For this you dont have to plan for weeks  short planning will do. For this most important thing is that your car should be in good condition so that the family do not get stranded on the way. 

Get hold of maps so that you know how to go,  if you need to get checked with your friend and relatives  do so, as to how to go. Feel up the Gas, check the oil and  coolant and get going. It is always better to start in the morning  so that you avoid night driving. 

It is necessary to take appropriate stops so that driver do not get tired and you also enjoy on the way. Keep the kids occupide by playing some games, sing songs or hear songs on DVD,s etc Stop at  the  appropriate place to have lunch. Have a good lunch so that all enjoy and relax. Also same way stop for short snack in the evening. 

Since you have a long journey, you need to stay  in  inn  or motel  and you start looking for.  All cities have Bed and Brealfast inns  on  mostly on both sides of highways. These type od Bed and Breakfaet Inns are also  available on the other side of  town. Stop at a decent and reasonable price Inn. Inspect the rooms and if there are clean, then decide to take the same or look for other inns. Most Inns advertise out side their Inn an iluminated sign board the. rates so that you can decide looking at it and not to visit inn to inn. Select  inn by inspecting. Look for cleaniness and   the dining hall etc.  

Enjoy the meals, watch TV and then retire. After a good night sleep get up and have  Shower one by one. Once everybody is ready, go for Breakfast. After that pack and leave setling the Bills. Start back to car and drive to the nearby Gas station check and fill up. Then head for the highway again. Happy journey.
