Disney Dining Reservations

If you are planning on eating at any sit-down establishments during your visit to Walt Disney World, you will definitely want to make Disney dining reservations. It can be difficult to find a table at a restaurant, especially during peak seasons. Also remember that the most popular restaurants are the ones that include characters.

Your reservations can be made 180 days in advance of the date of your meal. If you are going to be a Disney Resort Guest, you can make your reservations 190 days in advance. You can now book your dining reservations online or you may choose to do it the old fashion way and call a reservation specialist. Before calling or getting online, have a plan of what park you will visit on what day and also know what restaurants you would like to eat at with approximate times. Always have alternatives in case your first choice is not available. Make a note of all of your reservation numbers and keep it in a safe place with the rest of your vacation information. Most of your advance dining reservations do not have to be paid for in advance with the exception of some of the dinner shows and Cinderella’s Castle.

When making your reservations, you need to remember that the busiest times for lunch are 12-2pm and for dinner 6-8pm. You may stand a better chance of getting a reservation outside of these timeframes. If you are not on the Disney Dining Plan and are looking to save money, most of the sit-down restaurants are cheaper for lunch than for dinner.

If you cannot get the dining reservation on your initial try, you can keep trying. A good time to try is 45 days ahead of your scheduled trip. The reason is because if anyone wants to cancel their trip and receive a full refund, they need to cancel at that time. If you have a large party, you can also try splitting up a reservation to get reserve seats. When you show up at the restaurant, they will generally try to seat you together upon request.

Making your dining reservations is an important step in planning your trip to Disney. Sketch out a plan of what parks you will visit on what days and decide at what restaurants you would like to eat. Remember that reservations are not set in stone and you can change them at any time either by calling before you leave or at the concierge desk at your hotel. Be courteous to others and cancel any reservations that you will not be using.
