Is Video Marketing Worth Your Time And Effort?

When you type search queries into your favorite search engine do you ever notice how many videos pop-up on the first page? Particularly if you use Google, have you ever considered how many videos rank for competitive keywords? Video marketing has really become an effective form of marketing in 2012, and many marketers are finally realizing that it is worth their efforts.

There are several best practices if you want to reach the first page and get a lot of viewers to your videos. They usually include creating quality videos, staying on topic, giving information, optimizing your video, developing backlinks, and including a call to action in the video.

Video Marketing Tips

1. Create 2-3 Videos Per Week

Consistency is great because it adds authority to your video channel. Plus, the more videos you can upload, the more views you can ultimately get (unless a video goes viral). The thing with consistency is that you can now target a keyword with not only an article, but a video as well. So if you are matching your article with a video and linking both together several times per week, it is only a matter of time before your traffic turns into sales.

2. Quality Video and Information

Many video marketers go wrong because they create a crappy video and don't include any information about the product or service. The higher the quality of the video and the information, the better chance of converting. Think about it yourself, how often do you believe in things that are of low quality on the outside? The video must please the eye and have you in the background talking and telling people information they are looking for.

3. SEO Your Video

Your video should be targeting a certain set of keywords. These keywords should be in the title and the description. You should also include a little more content in the description in order to gain more attention from search engines. Along with this, develop backlinks to the actual YouTube link where your video is uploaded. Write articles that can lead people to that information, and search engines will reward you.

4. Make Videos Convert Into Sales

This is the most important part of the whole process. First off, you should have your affiliate link in the description of the video. It is recommended that you hide it by using a URL shortener. Your video should have text on it that says to click on the link in the description. This will lead people to the offer and hopefully make them sign up.

Video marketing is not that difficult and you can definitely make it work for you. Many new marketers have found their spot in the video marketing sector and are sticking there because it is so profitable. Using videos is one of the best forms of internet marketing in 2012, and it looks to continue going forward into 2013.
