Hi!! Thank you for taking the time to read my article dedicated to my favorite sport, volleyball. Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Erin, I am 35 years old,and I have been playing volleyball for as long as I can remember!! I currently play three nights a week now, and sometimes tournaments on the weekends. Plus, I am the varsity assistant coach at a local high school. I am married to my husband, Jeff, and we have three boys. Bryce, who is 12. Jeron, who happens to be 10, and my baby, Elijah, who is 7.

My goal with this article is to share with you my passion and love for this sport. Volleyball has played a major role in my life for many years now. I love playing and coaching, and just sitting back and watching the sport being played. I have made many friends through volleyball, and have so many wonderful memories. I plan on making many more! :)

I have so much fun playing volleyball! I am a setter, most days. In high school, I moved up to varsity at the end of eighth grade as a setter. In college, I was the primary setter, running a 5-1, but I also got the opportunity to become a middle hitter. I just totally enjoyed that!! It was so much fun!! But I guess in all honesty, I enjoy playing every position. I love being in the back row digging the hard driven balls, and I enjoy picking apart the other team's defense with a well placed serve. Yes, so pretty much every position on the court is fun to play!

I also enjoy volleyball because it is very therapeutic for me. Over the last five years, I have almost lost two of my children. My youngest son was diagnosed with leukemia and eight months later my oldest son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Our lives completely turned upside down, and volleyball honestly kept me from going crazy. I used volleyball as my out, my way of escaping the "real world". My way of relaxing. Volleyball truly saved me.

Another reason that I love to play, is that every time I get a chance to play, I also get the chance to see a lot of my close friends. The majority of my closest friends are all fellow volleyball players. Many of them I have known for a very long time, and whom I am very close to. I enjoy every opportunity that I get to play, and I enjoy every chance that I get to see my friends! How could it get any better?? Playing the sport that you love with the people that you love! Sounds perfect to me!

I would have to say that my favorite aspect of volleyball, is the tournaments. Definitely. They are just so much fun! I enjoy them so much! I couldn't think of a better way to spend an entire day. Again,! playing the sport I love with the people that I like to spend my time with. Plus, being rewarded for it with prizesWe have such a good time! I wish I could say that I am always on a winning team... sometimes yes, most times, no. Most weekends, we settle for second, which is just fine.

So, all in all... you can see that I am a volleyball lover! Through and through. I have been playing for a long time, and I intend on playing as long as I physically can. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my article. Now, go play some volleyball!!! :)
