Global warming used to not mean much to me when I first heard the term. However, I am now more concerned about it than ever before. Just last Friday, March 2, 2012, in my area of Indiana/Kentucky we were hit with tornadoes of extraterrestrial proportions.
The news reporter announced that 49 tornadoes impacted states from Indiana all the way to Georgia.
This is unheard of from someone like me that has lived 56 years.
But what makes me so suspicious of global warming is this past winter. In January we had record breaking high temperatures. Days that normally would be in the low teens were in the 50s. I never remember a January where people in this area were walking around in almost spring-like attire.
Don't get me wrong I hate cold weather and January is my worst month but I was shocked like everyone else was because this is unusual for us.
But that is not all. I remember as a kid that Thanksgiving was always cold and every year I would attend the Juice Bowl a Thanksgiving tradition located in a nearby park called Shawnee Park that host local teams playing football. As a kid I would wear two pairs of pants, double sweaters and my heaviest over coat to fight off the cold. But for the last 10 years the weather is so mild that it seems as if I moved to a another part of the country.
Could all this be because of Global Warming? I mean is the world coming to an end like I saw in the movie War of The World?
This past week many people died in these horrible tornadoes and many others suffered losses that will total in the billions. Their personal possessions were destroyed in a blink of the eye. Winds that were hurling at speeds of up to 145 miles per hour devastated the area.
If global warming is the cause for the tornados then they will become a constant power that we will have to reckon with over time. And as time goes on and our world continues to warm natural disasters will get worst
Tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, volcano eruptions and many other natural disasters that can happen will happen as we continue to warm the earth with our own man made and man created gasses. Our world seems to be changing right before our very eyes and there is nothing scientist or anyone else can do to stop the revenge the world is taking out against mankind.
Will we survive?
I hope so but the truth is many will not. Many people will become victims of global warming disasters. I sincerely hope that everyone reading this article will be safe from harm.
But tonight, please say a prayer for those that lost loved ones and/or years of material accumulations in last weekend's tornadoes. But above all please pray for mankind and our ever changing world that we inhabit.
If you have any thoughts on this subject please respond because I truly want to hear your opinion on this subject.
Tornados, hurricanes and many other disasters do seem to be increasing, don't they?
