Is just my family or is there other families indoors due to the weather? Well I have made myself get over the weather and find some interesting things to do. My family keeps saying we have a long time till winter is over and really can't wait till spring. I just reminded them it is the end of January so we only have a little over 2 months of winter left. We all know February and March could be really brutal weather months. Everyone should know that March could bring some really heavy snow. We do love to go sledding and make snow men and all but lately is has just been way to brutal here in North Eastern Pennsylvania. So we just have to adjust to being indoors while it is just so cold outside. My family has found a ton of things to do while it has been so frigid cold outside. My family and I sat around the table and came up with some ideas that we can do to stay from going indoor crazy.

Scrap-Booking

You can try scrap booking it is very easy to do and there are many things you could put in a scrapbook. Here are a few ideas.

1. Family scrap books are fun all you need is some scrapbooks and start by getting some old family photos and put them in the book. Community scrap booking is also fun you can use news paper clippings of your community or any special events. Magazine scrap booking is fun also you could take clippings from just about any magazine from National Geographic to Life magazine. Comics is a fun scrap booking idea the kids really love this one or even coloring books after they have colored the pictures.There are so many more ideas for scrap booking if you can think of an idea you can put it together.

Playing Games

2. You can play family games and there are lot's of games out there to play. We have so many games sometimes it is hard to decide wich game to play so are family puts the names of the games in a hat and pick one. It is interesting to find out our kids like our older games more than the new games that are out. Here are a few examples. UNO is a card game anyone can play it is easy and I also found that if you have younger kids it teaches them colors quite fast. Yahtzee a fun game to play but sometimes the kids might not understand this game but it might help them with numbers and math. Monopoly is a great game to play sometimes this game can take a while to finish so we start a game in the dinning room and sometimes leave it all set up and go back to finish at a later time. My family and I really enjoy reading and we found that reading out loud one at time gets us all to laugh it is a great way to pass some time.

Crafts & Model Building

3. The girls and I like to do crafts due to the cold. While the guys build models of cars and or boats. This fun to all help each other out with different projects. Your family can make crafts out of anything from your home and there are lots of You tube videos that show you more about crafting. You can get models from anywhere our kids always get a few for the holidays that we put together. You can make models out of wood from your yard. You will need some carving utensils and some ideas. You could get some great ideas offline.

I hope this will be helpful to all that has the winter time blues there are 1000s of different indoor things you can do to stay from going indoor crazy. Just remember if you can keep active with games while indoors it will really help from going indoor crazy.
