One of the first things an internet entrepreneur needs is a website. You want a website in order to be able to connect with people, and have them able to come see what you are promoting. You will seem more professional if you have your own website with your own domain. There are many different providers who will gladly sell you a domain. There are also many blogs which you can download, and fairly easily use (Wordpress being the more popular). Let us take a closer look at the first steps of creating your own affiliate website.
You will need a domain, and one with a name targeted at the niche you will promote. Try to include a keyword or two. This will help with the all important search engine optimization. Do not spend too much time with this, but put some thought into it.
The next step is the website. Most people use a blog because it is quite frankly easier; if you want to make your own website from scratch: more power to you and I would like to see it! (I made a photo website a little bit back from nothing.) Depending on who your host is, you can download your blog from their website; if not, it should not take too long to install the website yourself (most blogs have handy step-by-step instructions). Congrats, you have created your first affiliate website! Now, let's look at a few more steps to take.
The first thing you will notice is a theme - you can change that if you wish. Make sure you add a good "About Me" page as you want to be able to connect with your audience on a personal level. I know I like doing business with people who are their real selves, who act like real people. Make sure you let them know how you can get into contact with them, from either a contact page or contact info on your about me page. Another thing I do is add a "Private Policy" page, just in case. You will want to create a blog page in order to put your blog roll posts someplace. Try to not make too many pages, as they show in the navigation and can be distracting: Make pages judiciously.
I would use pages to talk about important subjects and the products you want to promote. Use the blog roll to talk about the subjects in more detail, or in your "everyday" subjects, but not the really important ones. It can vary upon the internet marketer, and you will learn more as the time goes by where you want to place things.
This is your beginner's crash course of how to build an internet marketing affiliate website. With this, you will gain an understanding of how to build an affiliate marketing empire: one website at a time. When starting, the key is to take action, so do not fret about getting at the details correct the first time: without action, you business is not growing!
