Why Send Newsletters?

The purpose of web designers is not limited to artwork design only. They are also responsible for creating an interface that would allow the owner of the site to effectively communicate with the visitors, and provide them with some useful information. Communication is essential when you work with a large number of returning clients over a certain period of time. Newsletters can bring you lots of benefits and boost your brand awareness. There are a couple of good reasons why you should send newsletters:

1. Keeping in touch with existing clients

After the initial purchase there’s usually not much contact with the client. You’ll only benefit when you keep in touch with your existing clients. A lot of business owners believe that retaining existing customers is more important than getting new ones. If you stay in touch with your customers, there is a bigger chance they will return back for more products/services. Sending newsletters will remind customers of your company and motivate them to come back for more.

2. Great tool for reaching a large group of clients

There are some instances when you need to reach a large number of customers at one time. Newsletter is a perfect solution for that. It would take you too much time to send emails to each client individually. With the help of newsletters it’s easy to make announcements or spread some important information in one click. You can use newsletters to advertise some limited time offers, promotions, industry facts, some policy changes, etc. Also it would be a great incentive to simply thank your existing clients and offer some benefits in return for their cooperation.

3. Show recent projects

In some cases existing clients do not have any reasons to visit your website regularly and check for new projects (in the event of large-scale projects). That’s why it is a good idea to use newsletters for showcasing your latest projects. Just take photos and include them in the newsletter to give your clients some new ideas and inspirations.

4. Advertise new services

If you started offering new services it is essential to let your customers know about it. When you add new offers to your current list of services, most probably you expect some clients to make use of them. Targeting your existing clients is a great idea in this case. Many of them will be glad to try out your new services in case your relationship with them is on friendly terms. That’s why you should always remind your clients of your company and what you can offer.

5. Promote your business

Newsletter is a perfect tool to let people know about your company discounts and special offers. Tell your clients and all those subscribed to your newsletter that you have prepared something attractive for them. Remember that all your newsletter subscribers have already shown their interest in your company by subscribing to your newsletter and they are more likely to return for more services.

6. Relationship building

In order to establish friendly and long lasting relations with your clients, it is strongly advised to show your appreciation to them. Send them greeting cards or just write a couple of words with congratulations on certain occasions. They will appreciate your care and attention.

Hopefully, these 6 reasons for sending newsletters will help you better understand its importance. If clients find your newsletters useful and informative they are likely to forward them to their friends and colleagues. This will give you lots of benefits and more clients in the long run.

I like your article a lot. Good points. My newsletter is full of info and friendly stories. I use it as a friendly PR tool, never hyping anything. People tell me they look forward to receiving my newsletters, so that's good. I think the kind of product or niche you have should dictate the kind of newsletter you send out. Figure if it's interesting enough, word of mouth will get you more subscribers, and you'll build your brand.
