It is a lot cheaper to start an internet business with free WordPress site hosting of your own domain rather than try to stumble along with one of the many (bad-reputation) free blogging platforms. You see, the problem with so many of these so-called "free blogs" is that while it may cost nothing to join, you can't count on your hard work staying live on the internet for very long.
Why?
Because every one of these no-cost blogging platforms has rules about content and commerciality - rules which (unfortunately) are routinely broken by black-hat spammers. The spamming by a few has lead to long lists of types of content which are simply banned outright by these (otherwise high-quality) domains. Try posting an article about shedding a few pounds or affiliate marketing on one of these platforms - or heaven forbid post an affiliate link.
BLAMMO! Bye-bye content.
Fortunately when I started a few years ago I was able to make enough money to maintain my own hosting accounts and keep my business alive. It did cost me quite a bit of money upfront - but I was so motivated to start earning money from my own business I just didn't care (but that's another story). I was going to spend the money no matter what. Back then the rules about free sites were quite a bit friendlier and the spammers level of sophistication was relatively modest and few blog hosts cared about spam sites because everyone was making money.
Not anymore.
These days new low-budget internet marketers have few places to turn in order to get their affiliate marketing business off the ground. Many of the second-tier blog platforms simply folded up under the weight of all the spam sites. Others carry on as best they can while spending a lot of time an resources developing new ways of purging content - whether it's your personally crafted article or someone else's spun article - they just don't care - it's gone!
And believe me - there is nothing more deflating than finding out that your hand-crafted 1000-word post has been deleted entirely with no chance of recovery. Then you wake up the next day to find your entire site gone and account deleted - and you've got nothing to show for your efforts.
It doesn't have to be this way though. These days beginner internet affiliate marketers can use the complimentary domain site hosting at their internet marketing starter account instead. I wish I had had that kind of account back when I started - I would have saved a lot of money upfront.
I agree. I got a free blog deleted last week due to spam - no warning!
