Bridal Shower Gift Ideas - Have A Kitchen Party!

There's nothing better than to start off married life with a new set of kitchenware. This would include of course the pots and pans, utensils and towels etc. In fact, there are so many kitchen related gifts that the possibilities are endless. With a little coordination, there shouldn't be any duplicate gifts (who needs 2 salad spinners!?). On the shower invitations (kitchen themed of course!) you could ask the guests to rsvp with what they'd like to bring or provide them with a check list of suggested items. Anyway, lets get down to the bridal gift ideas.

The Big Gift

That would be the cookware set. Not everyone is in love with stainless steel. The best bet would be non-stick cookware. The best on the market today is hard anodized aluminum, which replaces the teflon cookware of the past. It's very durable, uses very little oil and is safe. There are different price points depending on the brand. This would be something that let's say, the bridal party would "chip in" for or maybe given by a family member (mother of the bride or groom) perhaps.

The Utensils

With new cookware, it's nice to have new spatulas, spoons, whisks etc. The nice thing is that some cookware brands carry their own line of utensils to coordinate with the pots and pans. Either way though you'll want to choose something that's safe to use and does not damage the finish.

Cookbooks

This is a great gift for the bride. This gift could be either a basic cookbook or (if the bride loves a certain kind of food), maybe give a book about Italian, Spanish or Chinese cooking for example. Along the same lines, how about including a bottle of good vinegar or some spices used in some of the recipes!

Towels and Stuff

Unless you know the color scheme of the kitchen, I'd stick to neutrals. Since most appliances are either black or white, these two "colors" look really crisp in any kitchen. You can't go wrong with beige or tan though. Along with the towels and oven mitts, a standing paper towel holder could also be included.

Wine

Wine really is a good gift for any occasion. For a "kitchen theme" shower, it's especially appropriate since it's also used for cooking. The saying is that you shouldn't cook with any wine you wouldn't drink, so give a good quality. If for some reason wine is not appropriate for the bride/groom, a nice set of quality vinegar could be substituted.

Well, these are just a few bridal shower gift ideas using a "kitchen theme". You'll notice I left out dinnerware and cutlery. Since brides (and women) like to pick out there own patterns, they're better left as wedding gifts where the bride is registered at a department or houseware store. So to start out with the "big gift" you'll want to find out more about the best anodized aluminum cookware (reviews, prices etc.) and then take it from there!
