So what is needed for a successful Hen party?
Well, first things first, you will need to think of a theme for the party and a venue that will work well with that theme. It might be at a bar, someone's house or a trip overseas. Whatever you decide, remember you need a place where you can spend most of the time playing games, eating, drinking and partying the night away without disturbing too many people. Many bars and pubs allow you to reserve areas for your private party and allow you to decorate it to your chosen theme, which will really make the bride feel extra special.
Once you have the venue and you have sent out the invitations to the guests, start thinking about getting together all the accessories that you would like the bride to be to wear on the night, such as a flashing sash, willy head boppers, matching willy earrings, a feather boa, devils horns, a veil or if there is a theme for the evening think of dressing the bride according to that theme. It alwasy looks so fabulous when the whole hen party group is dressed up. It is so much fun too! On my website you will find hen party accessories, games, funky hen party tshirts, venue ideas, hen party theme ideas and other articles related to organising a Hen's Party which might be of interest to you.
As soon as you have the dress code all sorted and your outfit as well as the bride's outfit ready, you can now put together an itinerary for the evening or day, such as what games to play, what dares you would like the Bride to be to complete, what time you want to sit down for dinner and what time you would like everyone to be boogying on the dance floor! If you are planning to have a more relaxed Hens Party evening, like a sit down three couse meal followed by a pamper session given by a professional beauty therapist, it still a good idea to try include a few games to play and even a few cocktails or champagne to sip on. Whatever you decide to do it is always a good idea to be organised and plan the evening properly, so if anything happens that is out of your control, as least you will know what to do next and be able to rearrange the schedule accordingly.
Okay, so now you have the theme for the evening, the venue, dress code, games and itinerary... what about food? Are you going to have a dinner or lunch at the venue where the party is going to be held or will you reserve a table at a stylish restaurant before painting the town red! Maybe you are having the party at your house which is then always a good idea to have a few snack available or maybe you are planning on cooking a special dinner for the bride and her guests. A set menue with a starter, mains and dessert will always be a winner, especially if you are planning on drinking more alcohol for the rest of the evening. Most importantly, don't forget those cocktails! What is a girls night out without a few yummy cocktails to enjoy. On my site www.hensdo.com you will find a list of easy to make cocktails which you can make for your guests at home or if the party is held at a bar, I'm sure you will have help at hand to make all the cocktails you desire. There are also great bars that will offer a 'cocktail making class' as part of their party package, you can find these on my website too.
If you are stuck for ideas on themes and venues, please take a look through my site www.hensdo.com. I have written a few articles on party themes, free games to play and some activities to do with the bride such as burlesque dancing or a Fire Engine ride around the town. I also stock a cool collection of funky Hen Party Shirts and host a link to Hens HQ for the widest selection of Hen Party Accessories in the United Kingdom.
