A tent canopy or party tent is a shelter made of cloth material, and supported by more poles and stretched tight by loops attached to pegs driven into the ground. Tents, canopies, and marquees can be anchored down or stake down by using rope tie downs or ratchets assemblies that are composed of ratchet buckles and loop straps. The two anchoring methods are effective but they have significant differences.
The original tie down or type of anchoring system began when the Indians first erected teepees. As time goes by, ropes have been the common type of tie down in the tent industry or in the other field of tie down. The ropes are connected to the tent top and tie down at the stakes. The rope is pretty consistent and just takes some knot tying skill. A rope is elastic that allows some shock absorbing even when tight. But some other says that ropes are easy-to-use. The design and rugged construction let you be secured on a wide variety of loads quickly and easy. The biggest advantage of the rope system is the price. Rope system is the cheapest option to tie down the tent. Even though it is the cheapest in the market, the industry has another option when it comes to a secured type of anchoring.
On the other hand, ratchet or the ratchets assemblies is a more recommended option for anchoring a tent today. Ratchet Buckles are the new innovation on tent industry. Ratchet buckles are attached to the stake anchor and fastened to strap where the strap is attached to the tent top. The ratchet is now able to be tightened down or anchored that holding the tent in place. The ratchet together with the strap or the ratchet assemblies’ system benefits is the efficiency they provide when compared to the rope tensioning system. The ratchets are much stronger and achieved the higher level of tensioning on tent industry. Ratchet assemblies are much easier to tighten by a single person. The only downfall of the ratchet is the cost because ratchet buckles are more expensive than the ropes ratchet. But the life of the tent in installation process has a bigger and tremendous labor savings in setup and teardown. This is the standard on all Celina Tent and canopy systems.
Now, you can choose either rope ratchet or ratchet assemblies satisfy you. What process system in anchoring your tent you will be using?
