5 Easy Tips On How To Make A Kid Lose Weight

Being called a "fatty' in school is no fun. Hearing jokes each day about your weight can be very traumatic for a young child and it is no fun for them later in life when they reflect on their childhood. Approximately 20 percent of kids in the United States are considered overweight according to the Body Mass Index. There are fun ways for kids to lose weight. You just have to introduce the kids to the ways that are fun and easy. Here are some tips to get them started.

Tip # 1: Set A Goal: Setting a goal for your child helps them achieve a time set. For example, if their birthday is in three months, a goal for them could be to lose 10 pounds by their birthday. It helps reinforce a time limit to achieve their goal and motivates them. Thier goals can be very simpleand be a day by day goal, such as today I will run around for 15 minutes"

Tip # 2: Keep them Motivated: This is vital to them to lose that weight. If they are not motivated, they will see no point in losing the weight. Encouragement is great for them. Tell them everyday they are doing a good job and keep up the good work.

Tip # 3: Cut out Junk Food: This seems quite obvious but some just dont realize how much they have. Stop eating fast food as a family and it will limit their intake of fatty foods. Limit their household junk foods like potato chips and soda. This could prove to be one of the major factors as to why they are overweight. have them eat fruits and veggies instead when they want a snack.

Tip #4: Exercise Regularly: This is the key to it all. Exercise helps them lose the weight much faster since they burn it. The body sees fat as stored energy. Having them exercise outside each day for an hour is recommended by experts. Have them jump rope, run, play a sport, ANYTHING that requires moving and causes them to get tired.

Tip # 5: Give Them a Break: Let them eat some candy. Yes you read that right. Although when I say let them eat candy I mean let them eat only a few pieces of candy when they have made great progress. It shows them that they can still eat their favorite things when they lose weight .

These are just some ideas on how to get your child to lose weight. There is no perfect way to lose weight because everyone has a body that acts differently. Try to stay inside your Body Mass Index. These ideas should help set up ways to discovery how to lose weight.
