5 Reasons Why You Can't Lose Weight

This is a question that many of you out there ask yourself. You have tried all of the "fad diets", yet you look into the mirror and still do not like what you see there. You ask yourself "why can't I lose weight", and there can be a few different answers. I'll tell you what those answers are. Not all of these are going to pertain to everyone of you. You have to decide which of these are your most likely reason.

Reason #1: You are taking a diet pill. Most of the people out there who start taking diet pills are expecting the pill to do all the work. They take the pills , then grab a bag of potato chips and go sit on the couch and watch Jersey Shore. I'm sorry to break the news to you but even when taking diet pills, you still have to make changes in your diet and increase your physical activity.

Reason #2:You are starving yourself. When you diet, it is actually better and more effective to eat more times throughout the day. Eating just once per day will actually slow your metabolism down which is going to cause your body to store more in you fat cells. If you are wanting to take in 2000 calories a day, break those up into 5 smaller meals and spread them out throughout the day. If you don't have the time to do that, drink a protein shake in between your 3 regular meals, but, don't forget to make those meals smaller.

Reason #3: You aren't counting everything, You are dieting and keeping your calories from food down, but you aren't counting the calories that you are taking in from the things you drink. Just cutting down one soda pop per day for a year can drop off 4 pounds. Pay attention to the little things, they add up.

Reason #4: You aren't exercising. You tell yourself everyday that you want to lose weight, yet you aren't doing any physical activities. You don't have to spend a lot of time in the gym in order to get the exercise that you need to lose weight. You can find an exercise routine on the internet, that you can do right from home. Yeah, you have to put in the effort. Not too many things in life are just handed to you, weight loss isn't one of them.

Reason #5: Excuses. You tell yourself everyday that you want to lose weight, yet before you even take a breath you come up with several different reasons why it has to wait til tomorrow. Kind of ironic how tomorrow never seems to come huh? Different day, different excuse, if you want to lose weight and be healthy, you have to be determined to do it.

Everyone claims to want happiness, and they are always looking to find it elsewhere. The first step to happiness is to be happy with yourself. If you look in the mirror and aren't happy with what you see there, then do something about it. It takes some effort but it is well worth it. there is no feeling like the feeling of being happy with yourself.
