5 Simple Tips To Help You Stick To Your Diet To Lose Baby Weight

New mothers always ask me for tips to help their diet to lose baby weight. Embarking on a diet can be motivationally tough, especially when trying to look after a new born! There is always temptation to take the easy option under times of stress, without considering the consequences until the damage is done. So I will keep you no longer, here are my 5 top tips for sticking to your diet to lose baby weight.

1 – Prepare your meals in advance.

Taking some time to prepare the days/weeks meals makes it so much easier to stick to your plan. You are less likely to stray and eat some junk if you can have your meals on the run. Picking one day a week to do your cooking for the coming week means all your meals are at hand when you want them. Dump the rascal(s) with dad for an hour or 2 and get out the pots and pans. Food can be stored in the fridge/freezer until you are ready to eat. How’s that for making your diet to lose baby weight easy!

2 – Choose your carbs wisely.

Whether you go high carb, low carb or no carb, try to stick to un-processed carbohydrates. You should aim to get most of your carbs from fresh fruit, vegetables, rice & oats. So many foods these days are ultra-processed which is not good for your body when you are trying to lose weight or not! Stick to natural sources and watch the pounds drop off!

3 – Reach for the Herbs and Spices

The benefit of herbs and spices is widely known in some cultures across the world. Take a leaf out of their book and get creative with your cooking. Apart from turning bland foods into a taste explosion, many herbs and spices have fat burning effects. Cayenne pepper is well known for its ability to aid body fat burning! There is a whole world of taste to be explored out there!

4 – Healthy Fats

Fat to burn fat? Surely I’ve lost it? Well actually I am telling the truth. Consuming healthy fats such as unsaturated fat and omega 3 fatty acids, aid the body in its quest for weight loss. Try adding food sources such as salmon, trout, tuna, walnuts, almonds to see increased success in your diet to lose baby weight!

5 – Don’t buy junk

This one seems obvious and sounds simple but it is the one most people struggle with. I have had countless clients who embark on a diet to lose baby weight, then buy junk food, give into temptation and wonder where they went wrong! If it’s in the house, you can be tempted! Even if you have bought it for you child, partner, mother, brother whoever! There is still the chance you will have a bad day and give in. Now if you refrain from buying the junk and have a bad day you still might give in, but you’re going to have to drive all the way to the store to get it! And my guessing is that you’ll be far too busy to do that!

There you have it, 5 simple tips to help you stick to your diet to lose baby weight. As mentioned before, dieting is hard enough for the average person; throw a new baby into the mix and it becomes even harder. I hope these tips have given you some ideas on how you can make the process easier and shorten the time you take to getting that body you have always wanted! Thanks for reading.
