Are You Over 50 And Need Motivation To Lose Weight?

You are in your 50's and don't have the motivation to lose weight that you know you should.  Heck, we are the baby boomers that have been on a diet all our lives!  We are the "Yo-Yo Dieting" studs and divas.....the people who have grabbed any and all "proven" weight loss miracles that have been out there.  Diet, diet, and more diets for as long as we can remember.

Being motivated to lose weight and finally keep it off is more than a fad now that we are "in our prime".  We should be concerned about getting healthy to avoid all the bad things out there that tend to show up right about now.  It also has to do with the way we feel so we can pull off all the things we need to do and take care of.

You can begin by getting putting yourself first....being the most important person in your life right now.  It in no way is selfish or self-centered....doing this will enable you to take care of the ones you love and the things you need to do.

So how do we, at the fabulous age of 50+, get motivated to actually melt the fat from our bodies for good?

Here are a few mindset treasures that will have you on a one way track to having us our healthiest best before you can list all the diets you have ever been on:

  • Desire - Why do you want this for yourself?  What are you hoping to accomplish?  Write down all those reasons and keep writing them down as you think of them.  Then, read this list every morning.
  • Photos - Not talking about the pictures with you standing behind someone else....or from 20 years ago.  Take pictures, three of them, right now.  These are your "before" pictures of front, side and backside.  Go ahead and swallow your pride and just do it.  Be reassured that you won't be looking like that for long, thank goodness.
  • Visualize - Imagine how wonderful you are going to look when you lose weight.  How about how amazing you are going to feel?  Visualize the clothes that you are going to wear and how they are going to feel.  Now the tons of activities you are going to be able to do.  Spend 5 minutes a day thinking about  what kind of person you are going to be.
  • Goals with Rewards - Write down some attainable goals and how you will reward yourself when you meet those goal.  You may want to make weekly goals with small rewards and monthly goals with bigger rewards like a new outfit or a day at the spa.  The secret to success here is NOT to reward yourself with food.
  • Journal - Write it down!  Write down everything you eat, drink, the exercise you get, how you feel, questions, and any problems you may encounter.  As you are journaling about this magnificent experience, remember that you are doing it living diet-free lifestyle.  This little task will motivate you by having it down it writing how great you are doing!
  • Don't Diet - That's not torture yourself with another diet.  In fact don't ever diet again.  Change your lifestyle by being diet-free for life.  If you don't go on a diet, you won't be setting yourself up for failure.  Not failing...what a concept.

Now it may have taken you a few years, but you have what it takes to be in the best health, shape and spirit in your life.  You are in your fantastic 50's, completely motivated and living a wonderful diet-free life.
