The most important part of a plan to lose weight is the diet and nutrition part. If you get your diet wrong then you can already say goodbye to any chances you would have of losing weight. Many people place too much emphasis on the exercise portion of the weight loss plan and do not spend enough time planning their diets. When this happens everything you do afterwards is just an exercise in futility.

According to many studies that have been done, not a lot of calories can be burn by running. One pound of fat consists of 3500 calories and to burn this amount of calories through running one would have to run for about 29 kilometers and how many people would be able to manage this? A more effective route to weight loss would be to be in a reasonable caloric deficit before you exercise and through exercise you will only be fine tuning your calorie deficit numbers.

The great thing is that there are many great diet foods that can help you achieve this goal of being in a caloric deficit. This is because the best diet foods are foods which contain very little calories. The calories in the food are so little in fact that it costs the body more calories to break down this food than it actually harvests from the food.

This is perpetuated because the best diet foods are usually eaten raw which means they are harder to digest and create a larger caloric deficit.

The best rate at which to lose weight is at about 1 or 2 pounds a week depending on your weight and your basal metabolic rate. This is the best rate because it makes sure that you do not activate the starvation response which lowers you BMR, and makes it easier to regain the weight and more when you finally come off your diet.

When you eat the best diet foods available you will also not have to starve yourself because you will be able to eat as much as you like. Remember the best diet foods are the ones with “negative calories” and the more you eat of them and the more you digest of them the more calories you burn. Many people who are about to embark on diets worry that their new weight loss diet will not be as enjoyable as their old one. Well they simply do not know that the best diet foods are because are many tasty negative calorie foods that help people lose weight.
