There are many, many diets out there on the market at the moment all claiming the same thing - 'good diets that work'. Searching these various diets until you are able to find one that fits your lifestyle exactly would take forever so it is best to stick to a few pointers. These characteristics should be looked for in every diet you discover.
Firstly, is the diet you are looking at a balanced diet instead of being an unnatural diet based around pills or certain requirements. By being a balanced diet the diet should not leave out any of the food groups. Exercise is a big part of dieting so the diet itself should be highlighting this fact. With a balanced diet and a certain amount of exercise you should lose weight at a gradual rate.
Going back to your old habits is always going to be a problem so look for a diet that lets you eat the foods you normally would for small periods - this will lower the risk of binge eating. We all want to loose weight as fast as possible and we want the weight to stay off. Eating well does not mean you have to starve yourself on rice cakes or never eat a burger again ( nobody could ever stick to this ).
Eat things that you enjoy but try to find new, healthier ways to cook them. This can apply to most foods that you enjoy so don't think you can't eat chinese foods because they contain so much fat - just find new healthier recipes involving chinese foods and use these. Rule of thumb with weight loss will always be - eat less and exercise more. This fact will always work.
Remember that your body needs basic nutrients from it's food intake so these fad, starve related diets are no good for your health whatsoever. Even if you do add exercise to these types of fad diets they will still remain very dangerous. Your health will drop if you stick to this type of diet and remember - if your body thinks it is starving it will begin to stop it's fat burning process which is the complete opposite of what you where trying to achieve.
Fad diets, speedy diets, miracle diets - are these really considered good diets that work? A simple, planned out balanced diet is always going to be a much more effective way of achieving weight loss and staying healthy.
