Most of the modern day diets are based around the culture of 'calories'. The usual diet is made up of calorie versus the calories burnt and involve keeping many number records each day to reflect on how well you've done ( sounds like hard work ). The diets that are proven to work are usually the diets that help you change your lifestyle to a much healthier one and not the calorie counting ones.
A lot of people swear by the 'Atkins diet' which is centered around protein, vegetables and exercise. The Atkins diet is said to be very helpful for people with difficult metabolisms and people who eat to many carbohydrates. There is also a diet plan that is often overlooked called the 'Fat Flush Plan'. This is a plan I like because a large portion of it is based on elements of detoxing your body. The detox system generally helps to reduce the fat content of your body so the plan is quite health aware.
There is also a three step diet plan which is called 'The South Beach Diet'. This diet plan makes you cut out various fattening foods completely for the first two weeks. If you manage to get through the first fortnight you enter the second fortnight phase where you re-introduce small amounts of the weight gain foods to actually aid you with further weight loss. The third phase does not happen until you have reached the weight you were aiming for from the beginning. When this happens you may add a few more carbs to your eating habits ( but not to many ).
One of the easiest diets to implement is a diet named 'Fat Loss 4 Idiots'. This is easy because it is controlled by software that creates special menus for you ( giving you a lot of different variations ). You select the food to be used on this menu so the outcome is usually a meal you are going to enjoy.
These diets are all relatively new diets ( or modern diets ) but for the traditionalists out there you can always turn to the good old 'balanced diet'. These diets will always contain balanced amounts of carbs, minerals, vitamins and fats. This diet plan is worked with appropriate exercise on a regular basis.
So don't believe to much of the hype. Diets that promise you will lose unrealistic amounts of weight in a week will only cause your body to suffer from a lack of health. Do you research and you will find a decent selection of diets that work.
