The short answer to this question is: yes. Losing weight restores the vigor to your body and mind. Shedding pounds can have a drastic effect on your energy levels, personality, and physical prowess. These changes can be applied to every aspect of your life, including your career, home life, and most importantly, your love life.

While dieting is an important factor when losing weight, physical fitness will have the greater overall benefit for your love life and the way you feel on a daily basis. Sex is a physical activity that requires effort and desire in order for your engagements to be inspired and satisfying. Increasing your physical prowess will help to restore your sex drive.

The mental and biochemical benefits of losing weight will also help to restore your sexual desire and ability. The extra weight that your body carries when you are obese drags down every aspect of your life. You can incur mental health problems and depression as the result of a poor self image and the doldrums of never being rewarded for the extra effort you must exert to accomplish simple tasks in life. These drag down your mental disposition and make lovemaking a chore. When you begin to shed excess pounds, you will begin to reclaim your mental health and increase sex drive.

Does weight loss increase sex drive and improve other areas of mental health? Absolutely. After losing a great deal of weight, you will begin to feel more inclined to visit with the opposite sex and your self confidence will soar. You will no longer feel ashamed by your body and, conversely, have to avoid encounters with the opposite sex. The additional energy you will feel will help you to strike up new conversations and give you the energy to pursue fun activities. This will lead to new, shared experiences with your existing spouse or new lovers.

Being in top physical condition will also help in the bedroom. Longer, more satisfying sessions of lovemaking will leave you wanting more. The new memories of solid sexual experiences will have a positive effect on you future desires. This will snowball as you continue to pursue physical fitness and enjoy satisfying sexual experiences. Soon, you will forget all about the depressing past and having a low interest in your love life.

To achieve this effect, you must be responsible with your weight loss. Crash diets and dramatic methods for losing weight are not the way to go. Instead, go the traditional route of monitoring your daily diet and burning calories through physical exercise. Lose weight at the healthy rate of one to two pounds per week. If you follow this course, your sex drive will slowly build as the rest of your body thins and you begin to build muscle mass as well as self esteem.
