Need Help Dropping Weight After Your Pregnancy Ends?

Still packing those unshed baby pounds? Don't worry, the majority of women still have that leftover baby weight for weeks and even months after their pregnancy ends. This is normal. Huge changes have taken place in your body in a very short time. Hormones and habits both play their parts in the body's slowness in dropping that weight after pregnancy.

There are ways to get back that pre-baby, pre-pregnant figure and energy levels! Diet and exercise are the keys to dropping your weight after the end of your pregnancy. When starting to exercise, take it slowly, discuss options with your doctor and build up the level and time spent gradually.

Push or carry that baby in a stroller or baby carrier and start walking. Start at 10-15 minutes and slowly increase your time. Walking briskly will help y outo drop that weight after pregnancy and increase your cardio-vascular workout. As time progresses you can add in more exercise without baby.

OR! Join a mom's and baby class, there are many available. Take baby for a new baby swim class and work out with resistance but no joint strain. Babies love the water too. Some new moms start or join a baby sitting club, trade babysitting time with other new moms so you can all enjoy a fitness plan to help with health and weight loss. Many community programs offer free child care as the baby gets older. Or, start a walking group for new mothers so you can drop weight, have fun, and meet new friends for you and your baby.

Diet is even easier. Whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies, lots of water and smaller more frequent portions are key to weight loss after pregnancy. Remember, if you are breast feeding, you will need additional calories to feed you and baby. And notice that calories and carbohydrates are not the same as fat content. For example, you can eat 0% fat yogurt for example that has a high calory or carbohydrate count. As a healthy ideal weight woman you will need, a minium of 1600 calories per day and as a nursing mom a minimum of 2200 calories. These numbers vary depending on your lifestyle, fitness level and activity level. Ideas for dropping weight after pregnancy can be found in a number of places. There are many books and programs out there to help you drop that weight in a healthy, sustainable safe way.
