Eating Healthy For The Cheap

Are you a college student trying to save money?

Do you wanna lose weight without starving yourself?

Wanna keep that nice butt of yours or get six pack abs?

Well this is the article for you. While I won't be promising you six pack abs what I will be promising is that you will save money and eat healthy in the process. This article was made with a single person budget in mind. If you are trying to feed the whole household this may not be for you but I know that you will no doubt find some valuable information here as well. Alright so let's get right in to it.

For Starters...The List! Here is a list of things not to eat if you really wanna get that body you deserve.

Bad For You

  • No more sugar. This is hard to do but try to eat no more than 36g of sugar for males. For women it's a little less sitting at 30g.
  • No more Coffee. I used to be addicted to this myself. Just wane yourself off slowly.
  • No more Nicotine. I also used to smoke. Thanks to the military I picked up a few bad habits.
  • No more Alcohol. Yes you too wine-os. All that fermenting alcohol is no good for you. Try and go with 1-2 drinks a week.
  • No more Fast Food. This should be self explanatory though.
  • No more Soda.
  • No more dairy. At least cut back on this.
  • Try to cut down on only eating pasta and bread. This is hard to do especially when eating on the cheap.

Wow! Think of all the money you're gonna save. Now if you're a person who obsessively does all these things listed above. You probably feel tired everyday, anxious, and just like complete crap. Today's a new day though. We're gonna change all that.

Now it makes no sense for me to tell you what not to do without giving you something to replace those things with. So here is a list of things you should do.

Good For You

  • Try to drink 8 cups of water a day. "But it's so nasty!" You say. Don't worry 2 days of it and you'll be used to the taste.
  • Eat Fruits and Veggies Anthony Robbins recommends a diet consisting of 70% Fruits and Vegetables. Now be careful here. Some people like to eat a lot of fruit but totally skip the veggies. Fruit have sugar too and you don't wanna experience a sugar rush. So eat lots of veggies and some fruit. Bananas are good. Baby spinach is pretty good too. Check out Naked's Green Machine. It's expensive but pretty good. Check the ingredients when you buy green drinks. Please don't buy the one with green tea in it. You will be bouncing off the wall. It's made by (Bolthouse Farms). It's called Green Goodness. If you accidentally buy this. Return it. Don't drink it.
  • Eat White meat/Protein. Chicken and Turkey, Beans
  • Exercise 3 - 4 times a week. I recommend exercising aerobically instead of anaerobically
  • Take your Vitamins! Believe it or not there is a such thing as good vitamins and not so good vitamins. Go to the vitamin shoppe and purchase the Source Life Naturals for Men/Women. Your choice. They are all natural. They can be purchased for $30 bucks.
  • Eat wheat not white

Alright there is gonna be some initial pain here but stick with this for a couple weeks (2 weeks) and see how you feel. I guarantee you'll be feeling better than you've ever felt in a long time. While I can't tell you everything you need to know in one sitting. I've given you a great foundation and you will learn more along the way.

Before I go here is the saving money part I promised you. I spend about 30-50 a week.

Food Examples

Buy $1 Frozen Vegetables Broccoli, Cauliflower

Buy $8 Boneless chicken breasts

Buy Rice, or Mashed Potatoes

I drink water from the faucet. If you don't like faucet water buy a PUR filter I've heard bottled waters are no good.

Buy Bananas, Baby Spinach

2.00 Buy Noodles

2.50 each Two loaves of bread. I eat 3 sandwiches for lunch and a snack.

Buy good lunch meat, cheese

Buy peanut butter and jelly

V8 juice low sodium or Green drink
