If you are reading this article looking for fast weight loss tips, I am going to make a few assumptions about you. First, I assume that you have weight to lose. Second, I believe that you probably have a reason for wanting to lose weight fast, either because you have a special occasion or trip coming up, or because you are just straight sick of carrying around all those extra pounds. Last, I assume that since you are looking for these tips online, that you do not already have a successful weight loss method going that works for you. If these three things are true, then you’ve come to the right place. Here we are going to talk about how the average time-challenged, mostly broke, and turns-to-food-in-times-of-stress person can change their dieting patterns and find something that really works using these fast weight loss tips.
I have tried many types of diets and strategies to lose weight, and I am going to share with you the ones that worked. Let me just start by saying that food-limited diets like Slimfast DO NOT work for me, though I have friends who have lost quite a bit of weight using them. Unfortunately, you have to have a great deal of self-control and discipline, and that is just not one of my many talents. However, here are a few things that have worked for me, and I haven’t really even felt like I was on a diet. Using these fast weight loss tips all together may make all the difference in your weight loss journey.
- Vitamin D! I began taking vitamin D as a supplement and after about a week noticed that I had MUCH more energy, was happier, and able to avoid the crushing “I need a carb-loaded snack followed by a nap” feeling in the afternoon.
- Eating your 3 squares. Regardless of what the professionals say, I can’t maintain a snacking diet. Food and emotion are tied together for me, and trying to subsist on yogurt and apples on any given stress-filled day leads to inevitable bingeing in the evening. Granted, these meals must be enough to make you full, but don’t pig out. They also need to have a mix of protein, veggies and carbs, but I don’t fuss about exact measurements. A full-sized meal usually comes to between 400-600 calories.
- Eat an apple. Seriously, eat an apple after every meal (or a pear) even if you are full. The fiber makes your food last longer, and you’ll be so full, you won’t even want to think about having seconds.
- Don’t snack unless you have too. Again, it goes against the professional opinion, but when I eat my full meals plus an apple, I don’t really even want to snack, which ultimately cuts back on my total calories consumed.
- Find something interesting to do in your down-time. Ideally this activity will involve your hands so you can’t be constantly filling them with food and bringing it to your mouth. I knit a lot.
- Clinicallix. A weight loss pill that helped me drop 15lbs in a month (expensive, but worth it). Try it!
- Pilates! Or some other strength exercise. I can’t stand cardio, and this exercise worked my large muscle groups and made me feel strong and de-stressed. 30 minutes a day, weekends free.
One thing I didn’t put on the list because it is quite expensive and not really included in my fast weight loss tips, is the Nutrasystem diet. I would like to mention it here though, because it is surprisingly good food, low calorie, and very filling. If you need a long-term weight loss plan, this could replace your regular grocery bill and not make too much of a difference. Plus, you don’t have to cook! I tried Nutrasystem briefly, and experienced NO hunger, and felt very satisfied but only ate like 1200 calories per day.
By using these fast weight loss tips, I have lost about 30 pounds in about 4 months. Paying attention to your body is key, so you must get enough sleep and eat only when you are hungry. Don’t, however, stop when you are full. Remember to eat your apple, even if you don’t want to.
