Food Addiciton

Addiction. Did you think that word would ever be associated with how to lose belly fat? The fact is, most overweight people are addicted to food. Addiction can come in so many different faces. It is easy not to recognize the face of food addiction. Ask yourself a few questions to determine if you may have a food addiction. Do you eat to feel better? Do you eat when you are happy or celebrating? Do you eat things you don’t want anyone to know about? Do you eat comfort foods? Do you feel guilty after you eat? Have you tried to control your eating, but have failed to do so?

If any of these questions resonate, you may have a food addiction. Unfortunately, unlike other addictions you can’t quit eating food altogether. That is where, I believe, food addicts have the greatest struggle. Before you can work on your food addiction, you have to seriously evaluate where you addiction comes from. Is it cultural? Are you an emotional eater? Do you have childhood issues? Where does your addiction get its greatest strength? You see, most people think that the body and food are physical issues. Most of the time, your health, weight, and relationship to food are emotional. You can take all of the diet pills you want, drink gallons of water, and try every new diet. They may work for awhile. But if you don’t figure out what is gurgling beneath the surface, you may never completely overcome your food addiction.

Have you thought about it? Do you have an idea where your addiction comes from? If you’re like most people, there are usually more than one root causes for your food addiction. The question is, what can you do to address it. Depending on how severe the issue is, you may need professional help; either from a medical doctor or a counselor. If you are a self-help seeker, then you can always read books, research the internet or get advice from friends. Every problem has an answer, but if you don’t know what the answer is, you can’t start to find the solution.

Life is about struggles, trials, and even addictions. Every human being has some form of addiction. It is not something to be ashamed of, to fear, or even to ignore. Embrace your challenge or addiction and then use it to create your own personal greatness. Many successful people became who they are because of a personal struggle they had. Many people changed the world because of something that was right in their own world. You can make a difference, you can make a change. You can learn how to lose belly fat.

Mother Theresa was once asked by a woman how she could be just like her. Mother Theresa answered and told the woman that she could never be like her. The woman was surprised by her answer. But, Mother Theresa continued saying that she could never be like that woman either. We each have our own path. Make the most of yours.
