Getting The Skinny-losing Weight After Your First Baby

It can be done! You can lose weight you gained after your pregnancy.

Ever heard the term "yummy mummy"? It's a label you can rock. Who says mothers have to be frumpy and discontented about their weight? You can get your body back after you have had a baby, even your first baby.I willoffer you a few tips. And no I am not some bot churning this out but a real life mother of a three year old girl who went back to 110 pounds after having her baby.Oh, I'd gone up to 160 pounds and a swollen face and nose too!

1. Timing- not in the first six weeks- unless you're Heidi Klum

This is very important. Don't rush yourself to lose weight or put pressure on yourself to lose weight after having a baby for the first six weeks. It doesn't matter that Heidi Klum and Britney Spears did it. Your body is adjusting to after wonderful yet traumatic time of pregnancy and labor. You set yourself up to fail your weightloss plan or diet, hurt your body and above all your baby's health by rushing yourself to lose weight within six weeks of delivery. Enjoy motherhood. Let your body settle. Get some sleep! Enjoy your new baby.

2. Eat! Believe it or not!

Your metabolism will be affected by what you are eating or not eating. Now is not the time to worry about getting fat and pudgy as long as you eat right. Experts in nutrition agree that a breastfeeding mother requires is around 2000 Kilojoules or calories as the bare minimum. You can eat like a king on those calories too. You just need to know how to do it too.

3. Breastfeed

No, it's not primitive. Breastfeeding actually helps in after baby weightloss! Research that is centuries old has proven that breastfeeding encourages the contraction of the uterus to pretty much its pre-baby size. And since we know that a woman's stomach looks like she is four months pregnant immediately after delivery, the benefit of breastfeeding to reduce that tummy is immense.

4. Drink Tea

There are some wonderful herbal teas that you can drink that help your body to do all three functions we have mentioned above. Red Raspberry tea is a woman's best friend. From pregnancy and even after child birth. During pregnancy, it tones the uterine muscles to make them more effective during delivery. Taken from five months into pregnancy and sipped during labor, it can shorten the labor process.

After birth, Red Raspberry tea continues to tone uterine muscles back to size and can increase in breastmilk levels. I cannot recommend a more useful tea for a new mother who wants to give her body and her baby the best, during and after pregnancy.

I want you to be careful in your quest to lose weight and be slipping into your panties and jeans like you 'never heard a baby'. There will be a lot of crazy advice out there. Please don't starve yourself- you are at such a delicate stage- and please don't think you can't do it every time you pass by the mirror and see yourself in 'someone else's body'.

You will be able to lose that weight and make a come back. Steady yourself and enjoy the moment for what it is. You are a new mom and that's what's most important-after your baby. Be gentle on yourself and take it easy. And learn from someone who cares and knows what they are doing. For me. Please!
