Are you at the point where you don't know what else to do butscream, "help me, I can't lose weight"? Trust me, you are not alone. There are literally millions of people that struggle with their weight every year. The weight loss industry is one of the largest industries around with no sign of slowing down.

So why, with all of the options that are available to you for weight loss, are you are still having difficulty losing weight? Here are a few things that might be the cause of your weight loss frustration.

1. Do you have an undiagnosed underactive thyroid problem or other metabolic disorder? It is believed that there are millions of people walking around with a thyroid disorder that they are unaware of. An underactive thyroid causes the body's metabolism to slow down drastically and as a result, the weight gets put on very quickly. Finding out if you have a thyroid condition is very simple. Just ask your physicianif they willcheck it for you. You will have to get a simple blood test done to get the results.

2. Are you taking your thyroid medication correctly? Once you find out that you have a thyroid condition, you will be given medication to replace the missing hormone. My medication is the synthetic type and needs to be taken once a day, but for 15 years I had no idea that I had beentaking it wrong. Did you know that you are not supposed to eat or drink anything for 2 hours before and 1 hour after you take your medicine?And that calcium absorbs the medication so nothing gets into your system (so don't take your medicine with a glass of milk)? I always was having to get my dosages changed and now I know why.

3. Are you taking some type of medication that causes weight gain? There are so many different kinds of medications available to usfor many different conditionsand many of them have side affects that can affect your weight. If one of yours has a side affect like this, contact your doctor to see if there is another option available to you.

4. Do you have a food intolerance? Many individuals have allergies to food, but just as many of intolerances to certain foods and may not realize that this is an issue. Examples of foods that are sometimes not tolerated by the body are dairy, soy, gluten, and eggs. They body has difficulty digesting these types of foods and can cause bloating and weight gain in water.

This just a sampling of some of the issues that can prevent you from losing the weight that you want to lose. Address these issues and it will be much easier for you to see the pounds melt away. Stop saying "I can't lose weight" and get yourself on the right track to lose weight.
