When you begin a weight loss program. Its good to know that there are some simple, common sense techniques that you can apply to make this process more effective. I will share with you 7 techniques that has proven most successful for millions of weight loss enthusiasts, regardless of which program they are on.
Weight Loss Technique #1: Be realistic. Set goals that you can reach easily and incrementally. The quickest way to lose motivation is to set unrealistic goals that you're not likely to achieve within the given time frame. Before you even start the program ask yourself, do I want to be successful with this program? How much weight should I lose and how much weight can I lose in a week or month? Each small goal that your reach will get you closer to your final goal and being realistic about these goals while maintaining a positive and persistent attitude will assure your success.
Weight Loss Technique #2: Prepare for success. Set up is the key. While creating a lifestyle change you may need to have some things in order. This starts with your shopping list. Buy and stock only the foods that are recommended by your diet plan. Healthy foods to eat, more fruits and vegetables, low calorie, high nutrition snacks, mineral waters, vitamins and mineral supplements. Be prepared to throw away the stored up junk food in your fridge and cupboards, like your cakes, puddings, and sodas. Yes, it's time to say goodbye to the foods that continually de-rail your diet plan.
Weight Loss Technique #3: Set up a reward system for when you achieve your goals. They should be non-food awards. E.g. Don't reward yourself with a chocolate cheesecake for sticking with your diet.That will derail your plan faster than a speeding locomotive. Rather, reward yourself with things that promote new activities like a new pair of jogging shoes, perhaps some rollerblades, that new tennis racket you wanted. Now you can take advantage of using these new toys to further promote increased activity and ultimately your success.
Weight Loss Lechnique #4: Always eat a healthy breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and by skipping this meal you program the brain to react to its hunger later on in the day when the right foods may not be as available as they are in the morning. A good rounded balance of foods here are very important as well. The proper combination of carbohydrates, proteins and fats will serve as a longer burn to maintain you energy level. A small snack between breakfast and lunch is quite acceptable as well, maintaining your blood sugar level and supporting appetite suppression at lunch time.
Weight Loss Technique #5: Exercise in the form of you favorite sport. Remember those new rollerblades you bought and that new tennis racket, now's the time to take them out a wack and a roll. Make this part of your day fun! You don't have to always go to the gym,( although that is a good thing to do a couple times a week for strength training to increase your metabolism), but there are other activities that are very enjoyable and you may find yourself getting addicted to them cause they make you feel good, both physically and mentally.
Weight Loss Technique #6: Proper Sleep. You should get anywhere from 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night, reaching a good sound dream state for at least five hours of that time. A healthy dream state is very important for you both mentally and physically. This helps reset your body and mind for the coming day. Address any sleeping disorders you may be experiencing, as they can contribute to your overall health issues.
And finally, (drum roll please), Weight Loss Technique #7: A little R & R. No, it doesn't mean rough and ready, rather, Rest and Relaxation. Come on, you've worked hard on this diet regiment, it's time to take a break. Some relaxing healing modalities work very well in this stage of your plan, such as yoga, meditation, a scenic walk, or just sitting back and enjoying a great book. Stress management is an important part of maintaining a good diet plan.
